Apartamentos Jutlandia

Our second year at Jutlandia and we had another fantastic week. Our first night we had an issue with a fair few mosquitos on our net curtain but we spoke to the cleaner the following morning asking if he could spray something for us which he agreed to do and also left us a bottle of red wine on our balcony which was a lovely gesture... plus no more mosquitos! We travelled with our 7yo boy and 3yo girl who both loved their week away at Jutlandia again. They love the kids pool with the slides, floats etc. and they also spent a lot of time in the bigger pools this year which was nice to see. The bigger pools are clean, cool and well maintained. It was nice to see the kids pool flooring had been resurfaced too, no issues with it last year but it just looks a lot nicer now. Sunbeds are never an issue for us. We did hear people say they were unhappy as the beds should be unchained at 10am and some days they weren't until 10:30 onwards? That isn't good enough if that is the case, we usually got to the pool between 10am-11am and beds were readily available so we didn't have any issues personally. The parasols are a different subject... it's nice to see that Jutlandia to reinvest money into the hotel (kids pool flooring, flooring around the sites is all artificial grass now) but they should definitely pump some money into a lot more parasols. There is nowhere near enough and when it is 30+ degrees, you need one for your kids at least. That's something I hope they consider. We never usually use the kids club but this year, as it was so hot, our children requested to to cool down and they loved it. A special thank you to Alison who was kind, caring and reassuring to us parents too who had never left our children in a kids club before. My son can be quite shy but was more than happy to remain with Alison. We opted for all-inclusive again. We never used the Plazamar (the sister hotel situated literally acrossed the road... not even 30 seconds away) for lunch as the snack bar at Jutlandia serves some lovely snacks throughout the day, but we did have some breakfasts and dinners there. We always found something to eat and the food was fresh, hot and well presented. Our children didn't always eat very well there but they can be quite fussy anyway. Speaking of the all-inclusive, the cocktails had definitely improved this year. The premium ones (which you pay around 8 euros for) were good this year and last year but this year the all-inclusive ones tasted a lot niced and were slushy like the premium ones. Last year they were just like a typical spirit mix and not much of a cocktail. If you like beer, they have Cruzcampo on tap which is a good beer IMO and they have proper pepsi, pepsi max etc. Also the orange, pineapple and apple juices are all good too. The evenings consisted of mini disco at 20:30 and then some form on entertainment at 21:30. Leo (animation team) was fantastic with the kids, they all seem to adore him. My little girl doesn't leave his side throughout the mini disco. They also had another lady this year working alongside Leo and she was great too, my little girl also followed her around. The entertainment is OK, it could be better but it could be worse. We enjoyed it all this year but were gutted we missed the Michael Jackson tribute! Pros: Various pools that are all lovely Animation Team are great Kids club (thanks to Alison!) Food is lovely and varied Staff were all helpful and all smiles (bar staff last year seemed miserable but this year they were great) Fantastic location Clean rooms Cons: Lack of parasols "Pizza of the day" often has random things on like banana lol... but that's subjective I guess Pull out bed in the living room isn't the comfiest...
