65 reviewsThere are no "must see" sights in Broto (although there is a nice waterfall a short hike from the town center) so you wouldn't find the town listed in most travel books. Perhaps it's the quiet, the lack of tourists, and the attractive countryside that led me to stop here overnight on my road trip from Barcelona to Bilbao. I'll admit I was a little hesitant at first about the Hotel Latre. Its exterior is a little plain and it only has a 1 star rating, although stars are generally awarded based on the facilities (meeting rooms, swimming pool, etc.) more than anything else. Once I saw the room I was sold. It had a beautiful wooden floor, a large balcony overlooking a backyard flanked by the side of the mountain, a large comfortable bed, a mini-fridge, desk, LCD TV and lots of storage space. In fact, this was the largest room of my 17 day road trip, and ironically the least expensive. Parking was free. A simple breakfast was 4 euros extra. There were a few other hotels in town that had more "stars" and were more expensive, but probably not as pleasant as the Hotel Latre.
