Guest House Hiša Sonca Luče

This is my favorite place on Earth. As a returning visitor with over 20 visits, I am in awe how beautiful and well run Hiša Sonca is. This family run business is nested on the hillslope above the village Luče and as such offers stunning views, especially from the main porch. It is surrounded by a forest and pastures that guarantee privacy and peace. From the viewing platform outside, you can also watch a grazing herd of deer. The ensuite rooms and the appartment are always spotless clean. There is also a wellness area with an indoor jacuzzi and two saunas available for booking to all guests. Its glass walls overlook the valley (it's especially soothing in the winter, when you can watch the snow falling from the warmth of the jacuzzi while drinking champagne). Massages and bars therapies can also be booked, so if you are looking for a thoroughly relaxing weekend, Hiša sonca is the place to be. For sports enthusiasts, it is a good starting point for various hiking destinations. The nearby valleys of Logarska Dolina, Robanov Kot, and Matkov Kot offer nice one day family trips, but advanced mountaineering can also be done – this is, after all, the Eastern edge of the Alps. One can also go canyoning, fishing, parachuting, climbing, and in the winter, cross-country skiing and ice climbing. There is even a cave up in the mountains where ice persists during the summer, perfect for cooling down. The food served at Hiša sonca frequently incorporate local delicacies. It was amazing to begin with, but has only improved over the past few years, and is in itself reason enough to visit.
