They claimed they had no reservation even though I have the receipt.  so I had to pay twice. This is as much Expedia’s fault as it is the properties for not properly vetting their vendors. I’m pursuing a refund and maybe more if Expedia doesn’t deal with this promptly. This is clearly a scam.

It's a very nice hotel, very quiet, by the river. Nice restaurant both outside and inside. We ate very well there. It's a small swimming pool. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. It's a little bemool. They look a little noisy at the entrance/exit of the restaurant so.

The previous reviews and photos for this listing (and this one) are for Hotel Gite d'Etape (not Residence Du Fleuve Annexe, which I've never heard of and I've lived in Senegal for 10 years & travelled to Richard-Toll often). Hotel Gite d'Etape is by far the best place to stay in Richard-Toll. I'm happy to finally see it on here (although sad it's under an incorrect name) because I've tried several times over the past year to get Trip Advisor to add a listing, but was always told it's not a real hotel, which I promise you, it is. There is literally no nicer place to stay in Richard-Toll, which is a dusty, hot, local Senegalese market town. The map location as shown is slightly incorrect, the hotel is situated on the main Senegal River one street off the main road (N2), anyone in town can tell you where it is and there's a sign on the main road. My husband and I have stayed here many times over the years, and have always found it to be excellent...it has an old colonial feel but the rooms were nicely renovated in 2016 and are all very modern, clean and up to date. Plenty of got water for showers and air conditioning has always worked well. I think there's wifi but can't remember for sure. There's a bar, lounge room with a pool table and TV, as well as the lovely pool & gardens. The dining room is nice with white linen table cloths and a beautiful view of the garden and swimming pool on the river, but menu choices are sometimes limited. However, they are always ready to provide dinner and breakfast and portions are good. They have a decent wine list and plenty of other beer and liquor choices. There's a dock with deck chairs on the river which is perfect for an evening cocktail with nice breezes. The staff are very helpful and always try their best. Can't recommend it enough! We're going again next week!

This is Hotel Gite d'Etape! An oasis of heaven in Richard-Toll

We spent one night at the step cottage, as a family, we had 3 bedrooms. Very nice hotel, nice spacious clean rooms, nice decor, nice bathroom with Italian shower - good standing We were able to take a little dip in the pool, the view of the river is wonderful!!

We are familiar with this establishment but unfortunately our loyalty is not acknowledged: no possible discussion on the price of the restrictive rooms! count 38 000 CFA minimum for a double or 60 euros for a non-tourist place. The staff and the establishment live on these gains, kindness is not a bet, the customer service is all done, so... Fortunately the rooms have been made with taste. Our loyalty is to the restaurant's Faosa eggs! delicious! otherwise the desserts are empty! we can call this a dessert card... small offer is lamentable, how can you dare to finish in an establishment that wants a tradition of a small breakfast class at 3000 CFA with a cup of beef and not a confection of beef!
