Hotel Secret Garden

The song of the Gypsy Kings „Baila Me“ always reminds me of a journey to Romania, not because of the stunning village of Buzescu (which unfortunately I didn't get to visit) but because of the similarity of the song's name with the name of the small town of Baia Sprie, Maramures county, in historic Transylvania. What else is there in Transylvania besides Dracula? They have skilled local merchants who will try to drink your blood by selling local products at ten times the prices they sell those products to the local people. They have a small chocolate factory that, hell, produces chocolate with the same name as a renowned candy factory in Croatia. They have a tourist association, whose employees confirmed to me that I am the first Croat to enter their town since the seventh century, when my ancestors headed for the Adriatic Sea in a campaign of destruction across the Carpathian Mountains. There is also a hidden hotel, in village Dănești, where you can find comfort and peace. The hotel on the slopes of the Carpathians is called Secret Garden. Friendly and professional staff, neat and fragrant rooms, solid breakfast, swimming pool, lots of greenery... That's enough for me, I don't ask for anything more. This hotel can be used as a starting point to visit the remarkable wooden churches of the Maramures area and visit the magnificent mountain landscapes of the Maramures Mountains Natural Park.
