I've stayed in this hostel for 4 nights and i have enjoyed my stay. Joanna was so helpful, giving me advices for everything. Really nice staff, felt like family to me. Breakfeast is included from 6am-10am.

I would recommend this hostel for the good location (2 mins walk to night market, supermarket, mall and bars), but mostly for the absolutely great staff!

Great staff

Stayed for a night. Booked a double room as I arrived late from the airport and wanted a room to myself.

Very disappointed. Didn't match the good reviews and didn't look like the photos at all.

First, there'a repulsive, moldy smell in the bathroom area. That smell was familiar - the smell of cockroaches. And true enough, there was a cockroach on the floor. In the morning, I saw the cockroach was dead but it was left unswept on the floor.

Second, the toilets and bathrooms were dirty. Even if I was tired from my trip and badly needed a shower, I resisted taking a bath and waited until I transferred to a better accommodation.

Third, the room was "clean" at first glance. But a closer look at the walls and floor said otherwise. There's the smell of trapped air as there are no windows at all.

They did give a decent toiletries set with a notepad and pencil, but I'd rather they spent that money on keeping the place clean such as putting a trash bin in the room or making sure the toilets have toilet tissue at all times.

Fourth, it was very noisy. The staff were at the common area most of the time, watching TV or chatting loudly.

There was free breakfast but I didn't bother eating.

I've stayed in hostels around the world and know it's possible to have basic BUT clean accommodation. This place was just neglected and dirty. Avoid if you can.

Booked the 8bed-room,quiet though wifi is better at the common area(which I understand as this is a hostel) but no windows

Staff are helpful (but I was really confused at first who the staff are because a lot are staying at the common area who seemed to be there for a long time already)

It was okay

The place was just okay. 
All I can say is, it is not for claustrophobic people cause there are no windows inside the rooms. 
No small closets or drawers. 
Inside the rooms are just the beds, one wall mirror and one small side table. 
Breakfast was just cheap bread but with a selection of jams, and spreads. They also serve boiled egg and one fruit. 
They have 4 common restrooms but only 2 work at the time of our visit. Some doesn't know how to flush. 
Most of those who check in are foreigners. 

On the good side, it is near food establishments and convenience stores.
Location is at the center of makati night life. The bed was comfortable enough. They have a common refrigerator where you can store your food. You just have to name them or it's for everyone. There's free water at the common kitchen.

Overrated

This hostel is very friendly. The staff is accessible and sociable. We slept two nights with a few days' break. The rooms on the ground floor may be nicer than the one on the ground floor. You can ask by booking. Breakfast is included:) and wifi is normally accessible to the room. I recommend

Have a nice stay.

My first time to stay in a hostel and I'm definitely coming back. Joanna is super friendly!  Free WIFI helped me stay connected to friends and loved ones. I met and made new friends. The location of the place is very convenient.

Home Away From Home

I stayed alone for a month in Manila staying at the MNL Boutique Hostel. I never felt alone, the staff is very hospitable and the customers are generally very friendly. I felt a little like I was in a large living room with a very good atmosphere. The showers and toilets were always very clean, washed every day. The sheets and towels changed regularly. The breakfast offered is also a very good point. It remains a friendly and quiet place where it is good to live for a few days or weeks.

Very good hostel.

For a couple of hours, this hotel is fine, the pictures show the place well ahead, but once there I was a little disappointed. Just when I entered my room I found myself facing three dead cockroaches and two garbage bags. My room was clean and the climate worked great. The staff is kind and willing to help you.

I'm a little skeptical.

When you arrive in the hustle and bustle of Manila, the advice and smiling welcome of the hotel staff are very much appreciated. The photos no longer really match the reality, the hotel has taken a big old turn. The rooms on the ground floor are bourgeois and extremely wet (and it feels like it!). Fortunately, we were able to change rooms for our second night and benefit from one of the ones on the second floor and which has a window (on the street), it changes everything! No more noise but no smell! The hotel is well located on Makati Avenue, 2 minutes from a very nice fish market where you can eat and drink and listen to bagos and music every night.

Very friendly staff

Although the reality is a little more vaguely than the photos (rooms and SDB upstairs) because the DRC seems to have been rebuilt. We enjoyed our stay in this small hostel in Makati district. A big THANKS to Johanna who works there!
