A group of us had been up the Maranon for a week working with Indigenous Amazon Ministries, living in pretty primitive conditions. When we got back to Iquitos we were very pleased to find our rooms were waiting for us. The electricity was on 24 hours. We had indoor showers with hot water, and most importantly air conditioning. The bed was wonderful. The room was clean. The towels were clean and absorbent. The next morning the breakfast was very nice. We LOVED the juices. Our flight back to Lima did not leave until that evening and the people at the hotel arranged for a late check out for us so we were able to do a little sight-seeing and come back to the room for one last shower before heading to the airport. The hotel staff were exceptionally nice and friendly.
