This by far one of the nicest Airbnb's I've stayed at. Arnold exceeded our expectations. We got there late and ge was waiting for us with a great attitude. He made sure we had a small breakfast to go because our train left early. The room was very clean and cozy. They offered many blankets and a heater. My friend and I felt super safe and relaxed.If you visit Cusco, you have to check this place....
P.S: They have the best view from the bedroom!

Finding and getting to Saya Wasi can be a little challenging as taxis can't get to the front door and there are over 50 stairs to climb. It was definitely helpful having received clear directions in writing beforehand. Once inside it's all worth while. We stayed in the larger of the rooms which included a terrace area. All of Cusco is spread out before you day and night. The room and bathroom were comfortable and the breakfast served on the terrace was a real treat. Our only complaint was the bed was a little squeaky. The owner was away from home and the lady looking after the guests was kind and helpful although couldn't speak much English. The property prefers cash payment so we had brought US$
Decide if you can manage the steps and don't mind being 15-20 mins away from the main plaza. We found taxi drivers helpful with carrying luggage. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to Plaza San Blas.

When you Arrive, you know that you left behind the new school and entered the old school. The ancient beauty of this town Brings you a bit closer to the people who once lived here many year ago! Check out the little shops that are truly a beauty in themselves.  Small but so much color and energy, get here early before you're Machu Picchu trip to acclimate. Find some excellent treasures to bring home with you or enjoy an alpaca steak at UCHU! book the FLIGHT! 

We loved the view from our room and the service was excellent. Breakfast is simple elegance - yummy fruit, eggs, bread, coffee. The place is very clean. Owner is very responsive. Would recommend.  Note you need to walk up many steps to get to this place, so not for those who have trouble with uphill.

We stayed for four nights over three visits in two different rooms. We would recommend the lower room. They were both spacious and tastefully decorated. And the views over Cusco were AMAZING! However a few things could be improved which meant I can't honestly give 5 stars: A Lot of sockets in the room had been 'blown' - they looked scorched and unsafe; we weren't shown how to use the gas heater and didn't want to blow up the place. When shown the next day after a chilly evening it was fine. However the second heater in the other room we couldn't get to work. Also this 'middle' room was really noisy - we had an early start but couldn't sleep due to a loud mechanical noise intermittently above our heads. I whatsapped the managers son as we had used this to communicate previously. it was seen but no response. My husband went upstairs to complain - apparently it was a water/heat pump and when it was turned off it was only the noise of the bathroom above that remained.
The manager was sweet but things often seemed difficult - of course it didn't help that our Spanish was pretty non existent ( despite trying to learn it for the last year!). We didn't have the wifi code - it would help if it was just left in the room. And sometimes she was hard to get hold of to arrange our check out/payment etc as the property can be empty. I imagine things would run much more smoothly if the owner was around who was very helpful and responsive by email. The location itself in San Blas (very close to the stunning Limbus bar)and the rooms are wonderful - something special and I would completely recommend Saya Wasi if staying in Cusco. The steps aren't an issue even if you are affected by altitude, and def worth it for the view over the Cusco rooftops.No plug in the sink which is quite scary if you wear hard contact lenses as they can esily disappear ( expensive and trip destroying). A bit more attention to detail and care with the info when checking in ( and the noise) etc would make this a 5 on TA for me.
 We used the recommended driver by Saya Wasi ( Miguen?Sp?) who was very good and reliable - little English, but a good driver.
