15 reviewsMy wife and I stayed at Ukumari for 6-days during our stay in Cusco. The hostel is located 10-minute walk from the main square (Plaza de Armas). The walk to and from the hostel seemed pretty safe in the morning and night. Hostel offered nice hot showers, a place to store you luggage if your planning a multi-day trek (Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, or Salkantay Trek). Breakfast here is standard, bread with jam/butter, and yogurt (with fruit and cereal) or pancakes and coffee/tea. Kitchen is small but after breakfast it is open and can be used to cook meals. The street that Ukumari is on can be loud, with people yelling or dogs barking throughout the night. However if you are not a lite sleeper then this is a great place to stay. Also, the hostel offers laundry service which is nice, but there are also several laundry mats (lavanderías) all around the hostel with a bit cheaper prices.
