Bait Al Afia Hotel Apartment

The place was in the center of Sur, not far from the beach. The rooms were clean, bathroom OK. Good for a night stay (or two). The price was very reasonable, so as a place to stay for night and go out during the day it serves its purpose

Decent apartment hotel

We spent just one night in the apartment on the top floor, with a nice view from the terrace. 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a large living room and a kitchen (not equipped and a little messed up). Everything very clean. The staff speaks little English but was available. It is on the seafront, the center with supermarkets, restaurants etc. is about 10 minutes walk away.

One night is enough 

The apartment where we slept was not bad, it was very large; the kitchen was not nice with the rusty sink but we didn't use it very badly. The very big neon however were the beds (in our apartment there were two) both wrapped in cellophane (tissue, mattresses), which caused us to suffer a great heat all night long. The staff didn't speak English well, we asked for help to be able to visit the Ras al Jinz reserve but we didn't understand... The price was 45 euros for one night.

Drop the mattresses!

New hotel, maybe too much, since the bed has the plastic padding, as if it had been mounted a few hours earlier... the problem is that even the mattress was covered in cellophane, so in addition to the noise every time you move in the bed, we suffered a crazy heat... for the rest, great location and decent price.

I cannot sleep.

It is hotel apartment and it is in the middle of Sur. If it is for short period , it is ok. There is free wifi-internet. 

The apartment is large, so it could be for a small family.

There was a bad smell in the hall where our apartment is , and told the reception , and didnt do anything about it.

Cheap & So-So

The location is good, and its one of the cheapest hotels in Sur. Its in the middle of the market area... with an excellent restaurant called Bulbul Restaurant right below the hotel, offers great juices and fresh sea food. Once you enter the city Bulbul Restaurant can be your landmark, this hotel is also near City Cinema Sur. Bulbul people can assist you in providing taxi pick up and drop to Ras Al Jinz Turtle Resort. Bait Al Afia is almost 50mins from Rass al Jinz. 

There is a narrow street close to the entrance of the hotel where you can also park your car. In case you are leaving for the Turtle Beach in the wee hours of the morning, make sure your car is not blocked by other cars.

There is a considerable population of tiny cockroaches in the room. And the hotel definetly has thin walls, we were disturbed a couple of times in the night with kids jumping around on the floor above. 

However on the whole we enjoyed the stay and Sur is a lovely place with amazing people. The hotel staff is also very kind, friendly and multicultural.
