I truly enjoyed my stay here. It‘s a very chill hostal with some nice spaces to sit or hang plus a kitchen that you can use. The dorm rooms are pretty spacious and I really adored the beds, slept like a baby. There are individual fans for every bed and room fans. Top bunks have an outlet near the bed so ask for one of those if that‘s important for you. There‘s no mosikto nets over the beds, but since you‘ll have the fan on at night, that keeps them away too.

Best hostel I've ever stayed at!!! Please stay here if you're coming to Leon and you won't regret it! The rooms are perfect, great value and the whole place has such a chilled vibe with amazing social evenings organised every night! The staff are also so nice and helpful and it's such a clean, spacious and friendly hostel! Didn't want to leave! Will definitely be back.

Sadly I only spend a short amount of time here, but i really liked the hostel. The staff were really friendly and organised lots of events to ensure socialising amongst guests. The space was well used and the hostel was located in a central area, with a common kitchen and a bar. The beds however, we rather uncomfortable but seemed a small price to pay. If you're looking for a social and vibrant hostel this is the place! 

Highly recommended!! What a great hostel! Poco a Poco was our first stop in Nicaragua. The staff was really helpful regarding transportation from the airport and booking some awesome trips. Great welcoming, we felt at home right away. Everything is very clean and you can have a good night of sleep! The pool is really nice during the hot hours of the day. The AC also worked great!

After a trip to the north of Nica we even went back for a couple of nights. A lot to see in and around Leon! After 3 weeks of travelling we found out that Poco a Poco is a highly rated hostel amongst traveler’s, they deserve it!

Don't hesitate to book here - I checked out the other popular hostels in Leon (big foot, via via, etc.) and this was by far the best.  Dorm rooms are clean, staff is very attentive and responsive on WhatsApp (shout out to Erick) and there are nice hammock areas.  I liked the street it was on too as it was in town and close to everything but more picturesque than some of the other hostels.  

Poco a Poco made our stay in Leon unforgettable. Great staff, clean rooms , lots of information and fun activities. Close to the central park, and some nice bars and restaurants. Definitely recommended!

I chose the Poco a Poco Hostel based on its good reviews and stayed there for 3 nights over Christmas in 2019 - and I LOVED IT!!!
I stayed in the premium / deluxe dorm with aircon and although it was at least a 10-bed dorm it turned out to be spacious and I slept wonderfully. It also had its own bathroom attached to the dorm. The hostel itself is divided into several little chill zones with makes  up part of its charm. You can sit and relax on the roof top, chill at own of the sofas or hang out in one of the hammocks. There is also a communal kitchen where you can prepare your own meals if you chose to do so (there are also plenty of restaurants around). This is also where the included breakfast is served each morning.
The staff is super helpful and on Christmas Eve they even prepared a special meal for us and decorated the dining area which was very lovely!!
And for every other day of the week, the hostel planned activities in the evening in case you get lonely.

Friendly staff doing their best to keep us sstisfied, clean rooms,  great atmosphere, ideal for meeting travellers and exchange experience. Quick response. There are activities to keep you busy every evening. 

We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy and clean hostel. We stayed in a private room which was great value for money and enjoyed the nice ambiance and morning breakfasts. 

The location is perfect; in a quiet area but at close walking distance to everything. Also, the lady that prepares the breakfast in the morning and the staff at the reception are very friendly!

Everything was absolutely perfect ! 
Cleaning is done several times during the day, sheets are changed. Breakfast is good and copious.
I made some friends over there, only good vibes and energy 
A warm thanks for all the staff, you guys are awesome !!!

Best hostel in Leon

Que Calor, Leon!
Northwest Nic is a sharp hot shock when accustomed to Carib summer rain, especially when dehydrated by demasiado cerveza further up the road.
Poco a Poco, with genial hosts Henry & Eric, was hammock to hammock rehab for a couple of days, where I was resident perezoso sloth, literally hanging out in the courtyard, where the fans nearly matched my lazy bones, yet better than sweating in the stuffy dorm. But the sign of a laid-back hostel: no one was judging, or at least never nudged me with any ahems.
To my credit, I did sledge-surf the ash-cone of Cerro Negro, not as zestily as most, but the hangover didn't quite quell the thrill.
Poco a poco, toddling the baking calles of Leon, though not a patch on colonial charms of Granada, far less Antigua, not unpleasant - most Central Am cities are pretty grim. Get out of town to the landscapes and pueblos and you've got the corazon.
Gracias para el descanso, amigos, while I gathered energy levels and sinews, heading up for hiking in the northern highlands where a peely-wally Scotsman feels more at home.

Cosy & clean hostel

We were a couple that came for a short trip to Nicaragua and we started in Leon. The hostel was great we stayed in the double room with bathroom. Stuff is amazing helped us in everything we needed. From volcano boarding to our shuttle to our next destination. Couldn’t asked for a better beginning to our trip.

I stayed in Poco a Poco for 5 nights and had a great time here. I met a bunch of other travellers that I explored the city and surrounding areas with. Great vibe at Poco a Poco with a ton of events put on by the hostel. I booked my volcanoe boarding trip through the hostel as well as the free walking tour (very very highly recommended). The hostel also organised a pub crawl - as part of this we watched the sunset with beers at an abandoned prison at the edge of town, such a great experience! One of the hostel staff, Eric Rivera, went out of his way to make our stay there extra special. We were late to the pub crawl and so he organised us a taxi to catch up with the rest of the group and also made sure we made our walking tour when we woke up a bit late and hungover the morning after the pub crawl. Would definitely recommend this hostel for a great vibe,  organised events, and very friendly hostel staff!
