With it's phenomenal views straight down Queen Charlotte Sound and it's proximity to the start of the Queen Charlotte Track, Tirimoana House could hardly be bettered. Keith and Delwyn were the perfect hosts, welcoming, friendly and informative (not forgetting the terrific breakfast).
Accessed via the scenic wonders of the Queen Charlotte Drive, whether approached from Picton or Havelock, Tirimoana House is an idyllic base for exploration or just 'loafing'.

The hosts were very helpful and helped us plan the best activities for our stay and organise them. The view from our balcony and the shared lounge were fabulous. Food and refreshments were excellent. We would happily return if in New Zealand again and would recommend it as a great location and place to stay if asked. The scenery and closeness to Queen Charlotte Track were wonderful.

If you happen to travel in the area and need an really nice place for the night this is the place to go! Hosts are extremely nice and the view is magnificent. Best accomodation on our honeymoon! The owners are still doing renovations on the premises so it's going to be even more awesome in the near future.

My wife and I stayed at Tirimoana House after the 2020 New Year and we had an extremely enjoyable experience. We had younger family members staying at the campground across the bay and it was great to have everybody close. We went swimming in the sound and in the Tirimoana House pool, hiking on the Queen Charlotte Track (walking distance), dinners at the local pub (can't remember the name but really very good), evening drinks on the Tirimoana House deck overlooking the Queen Charlotte Sound - what else could you ask for? The owners are really nice, friendly and helpful, but not intrusively so. Breakfast is provided and is excellent, but dinner is on your own and the pub is about 10 minutes away. 
Being a typical Kiwi place, the owners are doing construction to upgrade the rooms (small bathrooms). It is lovely right now, but will be even better when the upgrade is complete. Note that the construction work is well out of the way and is not a distraction at all. You will be too busy looking at the incredible views !

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Tirimoana B&B. The house is very well situated with a beautiful view down the Queen Charlotte Sound. Our bedroom was very pretty,comfortable and well equipped with a lovely balcony overlooking the view. We enjoyed the pool and walking in the area as well as a visit to the vineyards of Marlborough, a short drive away. What makes Tirimoana particularly special is the warm welcome extended to guests by Dell and Keith. They really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. We all had evening drinks with them and their other guests ( from Germany, Canada and Finland) on their verandah and they made excellent recommendations about the highlights of the local area. The breakfast was delicious with special shout-out for Dell’s homemade granola and Keith’s excellent scrambled eggs. We appreciated Dell’s recommendation of a restaurant one evening and then enjoyed a platter she prepared for us on the second evening on our balcony looking over the tree ferns out to the water. I really recommend a stay here- 2 to 3 nights at least, leaving more to look forward to for a future date.

The ‘old fashion’ key we received from our hosts Del & Keith unlocked not just great accommodation with a view, but the most hospitable people’s hart. You feel most welcomed in their own private living area; relaxed atmosphere helps you to organise your stay; their attention to details makes your stay more enjoyable. During the ascent on the flight back to Wellington, we saw Anakiwa. Thinking “We have been there” gave us a smile. Pretty sure every time we see Malborough Sounds again, this feeling will come back.

The hosts at Tirimoana House, Delwyn and Keith were warm and gracious. The bedrooms were comfortable and had extraordinary views over Marlborough Sounds. It is a lovely house in a beautiful setting. Its proximity to the Queen Charlotte Track was a special bonus.

Although my family and I only spent 2 nights here, we left wishing we were staying longer. Delwyn and Keith are probably the kindest, most generous, and most welcoming hosts anyone could ask for. Not to mention they make an amazing breakfast! (we especially loved the plums and bacon) Delwyn and Keith treated us more like well known family friends than strangers/guests. As we are a family of 5, we rented 3 of the 4 rooms and were lucky enough to be able to have the house to ourselves. Keith even offered us the extra 4th room free of charge, which was incredibly generous. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, there is a nice lounge with a tv on the bottom floor, and there is a cute hot tub available for use. Not to mention the absolutely stunning and breathtaking views available from almost every part of the house. All in all, our stay at the Tirimoana House was everything we could have asked for, and more! Thank you Delwyn and Keith!

Great facility, location and fantastic hosts. Area offers a lot

We spent two nights in early March 2019 at Tirimoana House with Delwyn and Keith who were the most kind and gracious hosts. The location is stunning and the pool and spa with their awesome views over Queen Charlotte Sound should not be missed. Delwyn’s delicious breakfasts (also not to be missed), the pre-dinner drinks and the lively conversation on the terrace overlooking the stunning bay while we enjoyed an evening BBQ was quite simply the most enjoyable experience we have had for quite a while. The five-star (more stars required here) accommodation was very clean, comfortable and private. Delwyn and Keith went to extraordinary lengths to make my birthday special (the reason for our holiday). I didn’t imagine that turning 60 could be quite so much fun, thank you Delwyn and Keith for creating a magical evening for us. We are looking forward to returning to this lovely place and spending more time in the beautiful Tirimoana House with the most generous, kind and caring hosts you could wish to meet.

Tirimoana House - Stunning Location and Gracious Hosts

Tirimoana House is a perfect haven nestled into Anakiwa and overlooking the stunning Marlborough Sounds. We spent two nights enjoying this little slice of paradise and didn’t want to leave. Delwyn and Keith are wonderful hosts , they are friendly, relaxed ,flexible and thoughtful and so very happy to share this magical spot with their guests. We were fortunate to be there in perfect weather so we especially enjoyed their evening BBQ and drinks on the front deck facing the water and watching the magical sunset colours over the Sounds. The leisurely and very generous  breakfasts outside on the deck were another special time ( great eggs thanks Delwyn!). The pool was much appreciated and yet another area to watch the ever changing vista over the Sounds. We didn’t try the spa pool but it is in a great position to watch the stars , an amazing display in the clear night 
sky.  The rooms were very comfortable and private and there is a great indoor lounge area if the weather is not favourable to be outdoors. We thoroughly recommend Tirimoana House.

Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the Marlborough Sounds

Anakiwa House is a small b&b establishment with a beautiful view to the Queen Charlotte sound.  The room was very nice with   a good view. The breakfast was plentiful. The hosts were very nice & helpful as we planned ou trip forward. On top of this it was very relaxiing to sit in the hot tub in the evening  listening to the night and watching the stars. If I could I would easily give more than 5 stars.
