Star View Guest House

I stayed at Starview Guest House for about 3 weeks. Amanda and her staff were very nice and friendly. We always had interesting conversations sitting at the rooftop talking about life, nepal, spiritual stuff and whatever comes to mind. The view of Kathmandu from the rooftop was fantastic (when the fog doesn't block the view). I could even see the Boudha stupa on a clear day (with the help of a binoculars, of course). The cook often made delicious cookies in the afternoon for everyone. I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle, and Amanda was very nice to go to the hospital and buy me a compression bandage for my ankle, and lend me her walking stick. I stayed in a single room, with the common bathroom just outside my door, which is very convenient. My room is comfortable, but can be quite cold during the winter. Luckily the room had 2 thick blankets and i also had my own sleeping bag. The guest house is popular with nepalis who would come and stay during holidays and weekends. So, sometimes it can be quite busy. Some nights, there were guests coming in late, or singing songs and playing guitar on the rooftop. It was a very homely, local experience. Nevertheless, it is still a great guest house to stay because of the wonderful people who run the place. On my last day at the guest house, Amanda gave me a ride to the city as she was also going there to do her shopping. Thankyou everyone.
