Hotel Thorong Peak

My husband and I spent almost three weeks in Thorong peak hotel and it was one of our best stay during lockdowns. The owner is very understanding, he gave us discount because of the situation, and kept calling us even after we left hotel and asking us if we need anything. Highly recommended, it’s a nice,cozy place to spend sometime.

We just loved our first stay at the Thorong - this is why we  kept staying there during three months every time we were visiting Kathmandu when coming from the village we were volunteering at!!
The staff was truly kind. Breakfast included generous portions made with fresh ingredients. The room was as beautiful as shown in the pictures. Great location: within the most important streets inThamel, but in a very quiet corner, so that no noise could disturb you. HIGLHY RECOMMENDED.

It’s a nice hotel with great location with authentic details, crafted wooden masks, stone-made bathroom. I’d recommend a deluxe room with balcony definitely - for nice cup of coffee you may enjoy sitting outside. Breakfasts are good, staff is nice and welcoming. 

Located in Thamel it’s a nice place to stay for solo, couple and group travelers. It's near the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Well furnished room, neat and clean washroom, friendliest staff and very tasty food. Morning breakfast was complimentary.

Centrally located near tourist destinations. Overall you can easily stay here during your visit in Kathmandu.

I had an amazing experience at this place.

The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Thamel, which makes it super convenient. The room was great, clean and comfortable. Recommended to all and I personally wouldn't hesitate to stay here in future.

Only stayed for one night as my plans changed, but i can say that they helped me in this change and plus the smiles :)
Room was clean and good value.
I will definitely come back one day

- Room was nicely furnished and clean. Bed was quite hard so bear in mind for those who would prefer softer beds. 
- Located in the heart of thamel, easily accessible to many food and shops by foot. It is in tucked away in a nice little corner which gave it privacy that I appreciated. Generally safe location (as with the rest of thamel).
- Warm and friendly reception, housekeeper and waiter. Really sweet and helpful.
- Restaurant has nice outdoor seating. Breakfast was items off the menu which meant it was made to order. Food was good, similar to what you'd get outside.

*BONUS - I saw a small family of cats in the outdoor area and I think it's really kind of the staff to leave some food/water out for them.

Overall great value for money and wish I had more days!

I have been in Nepal 2 months and a half, my 1st visit. Many to follow in the near future. I have done numerous activities, where I have always returned to Thorong Peak Guest House in between. For me, generally, every hotel is just a hotel: where its' people/hotel personnel make a difference.
And they were absolutely great at TPGH; all of them. Very friendly, positive, helpfull, whatever questions regarding Nepal you would have, they will give you an answer or help you in finding one.
So I need to thank all of the personnel here & now: Dolma, Abhishek, Sushila, Dev, Sajan, Chachi, Punam, Rakesh, Manoj, Badri, Santa, Aasha & Biresh. You made my (already much enjoyable) visit in Nepal even better.

@Mr.Sameer: pls allow me to add the following with highest respects to you: you are a lucky man to have such a great personnel; I would be proud & full of respect for them, were I you.

And sure: Guest House itself is very nice; reasonable prices, good location, tasty food, etc...

Stayed at Thorong Peak for a total of 2 weeks and we loved it. The place is smack in Thamel- yet it’s in a small alley way so it doesn’t get too loud at nights. The restaurant at the hotel has amazing food and the staff there were amazing as well. The price was so reasonable that you just can’t go wrong with this place.

Thorong Peak went beyond all expectations! We had a large group of 16 stay with them for my wedding and they were so accommodating, especially as well all had different check in and check out dates! They were so helpful as well. All the rooms were very clean, staff were lovely and my entire family all expressed how impressed they were. 
Thank you all at Thorong Peak for everything you did, it was a pleasure staying with you.
