We completely enjoyed our 3-night stay at Dar Moudar. Zohra (owner) was always available to answer our questions and help plan our days The staff were all very friendly and helpful, really wonderful people. They chatted with us about the area, history, and life in Marrakech.

Beautiful Little Castle

Good - the property is large spacious and is amazing. The pool is very large and the grounds are nice. The man looking after the property could not have been more helpful and kind to us with anything we need help with. 
Bad - the property was run down and had not be maintained well with no money spent on it. No hot water in the kitchen, broken dishwasher, 1 toilet roll on the first night for 9 people and my 10 year old got locked in a bedroom because the door broke. The internet kept running out of credit but the owner said it hadn’t. The cooker was dangerous and gave one of us an electric shock. Even worse the property was filthy. No proper cleaning with dirt and dust everywhere. We found mouldy food left in the microwave and tables stained with food. 
Would I recommend it? Difficult to be honest. Amazing house if only they maintained it and cleaned it. It feels like a great property that is not maintained because the owner doesn’t spend money on maintenance or enough on cleaners. Only one cleaner turned up when we were leaving. For a house that size it is not appropriate. 

Some good.  Some bad 

We had mixed feelings about our Stay in Villa Dar Moudar.
The pool is better than the pictures make out and is really nice as is the downstairs living rooms. There were 4 bedrooms upstairs which came with en-suites. The fifth bedroom is downstairs and not displayed in any of the pics and when you see it you will understand why. Anyone in this room will have the short straw.
 
That pretty much ends the positive points about the Villa. The Negatives being;
WIFI only worked intermittently and was only plugged in Friday & Saturday. We had no Wi-Fi on Thursday or Sunday can only assume the owners paid for 2 days as it is via a dongle. When asked they would message saying it would be back on in an hour and we would just go around in circles like that.
 
We also paid for breakfast during our stay which was 6 euros per person per day. We were told this would be a big breakfast with lots of Fruit, eggs beans the works. For 8 people we got a few Moroccan pancakes with some jam and 2 eggs( No joke). Second day we ended up going to a cash and carry to get some more food to subsidise.
Next issue was trying to order a taxi. This is what wound me up the most. They said they could order us a taxi but we would have to give the money to Razor (Security Guard) for the taxi not the taxi driver. We reluctantly agreed the first day as we had no Wifi and was unable to order one for ourselves. Once we arrived in Marrakesh i found out that they had taken 50% mark-up for making a call for a taxi. Luckily we met a driver while quad biking and he picked us up and dropped us off as we needed, cutting out the owners of the Villa.
Taking all this into account I would not recommend nor stay at this Villa again as the owners caused us stress from the outset. We felt they took advantage wherever possible to make more money out of us. If you do stay at this Villa bear all this in mind plus it is also a good 45 mins into the main bit of Marrakesh and a taxi one way will cost you around 25 Euros. Also nothing is provided in the Villa not even toilet paper and there are no shops within walking distance.

Nice VILLA shame about the Owners

Straight off the bat, I would not advise anyone to stay in this property when visiting Morocco. In summary ZOHRA is a racist, swindling woman under the guise of a landlady.

Upon arrival, my party of 6 were welcomed nicely to the villa. We were happy and excited. As we settled in, we arranged to pay Zohra the amount for the duration of stay, which was requested in Euros. I quickly advised friends in my party that although we have agreed to this, this is a sly move to get more money out of what the villa is worth as she would go on to change those euros into the local currency of Dirham which would make her better off. We let this slide. 

The wifi at the villa is appalling to the point of non existent! There is a pathetic dongle in the living room which barely one person can connect to. Trying to sort this out with Zohra brought a rude response, and she claimed that there was nothing wrong, stop calling her.

One of the bathrooms flooded through no real fault of our own. My roommate used the traditional wash tap near the toilet as expected. It broke and burst. Luckily, the gate guard coming to our rescue . Zohra came to inspect and blamed it entirely on us, whilst the guard had actually explained that we are not the first guests to experience this as it has happened before.

The kitchen was infested with cockroaches and ants, which I understand can happen in Africa. However, this is unacceptable in a property supposed to function as a luxury getaway for visitors. We had to sort out this problem ourselves by getting repellent powder which was effective but we should not have had to experience this and should have been taken care of by Zohra.

We decided to carefully complain that our stay in the villa has not been as expected. She got angry and chased my friend around with a broom trying to attack her.

This hostility truly ruined our experience, leaving some of us anxious to the point of wanting to leave. 

On our last day, Zohra insisted she had to inspect before we left. Fair enough. However, she decided to claim that the place was in a state and charged us for dusty surfaces which we met at the villa and laundry which was not disclosed at the begin of our stay. She would not let us leave without giving 10 euros, almost missing our flight,  and proceeded to call us 'a bunch of monkeys'. (we are girls of colour) 

Truly distressing experience. In the middle of nowhere. DO NOT STAY HERE. The villa is nice but all for nothing!

Distressing stay thanks to a terribly unprofessional "landlady"

First of all the location of the villa was over 40minutes away from Marrakech itself even though the owner initially said it was 20minutes. Transportation anywhere was over 60Euros a day. 

Zohra was a horrible host. She was insulting, and tried to violently attack my friend with a metal broom. She extorted money from us when we were about to leave because she claimed the villa was  left dusty. This was untrue as when we arrived the place was extremely dusty including the beddings and myself and my friends were sneezing vehemently throughout our stay. She failed to provide basics such as tissue and there were bugs (ants, cockroaches) in the kitchen. When we complained she insulted us and that's when she tried to attack my friend with a broom chasing her round the building. 
I do not think it is safe for anyone especially young girls to stay in this place. I and my friend felt incredibly threatened by this woman and her son. There was no reason whatsoever for her to try to attack or assault anyone violently particularly guests that paid to stay in the villa!
Upon leaving as well she delayed our airport transfer to extort a further 20 euros from us making us almost late for our flights. on top of that she threw racial slurs at us. 
I would not advice anyone to stay here particularly for safety reasons and also because it is so far out that if anything happened to you no one would know. The wifi service there is non-existent even though she claims there is, so contacting anyone outside is literally impossible. 

I am reporting her to the authorities and I would strongly advise for travellers not to visit this place.
