Dar Naima - Hostel

This dar is located right next to Tala'a Kebira, the main sloping street through the medina. Given how busy and overwhelming that street can be, this place is very peaceful and quiet by contrast.
Breafast is served on the roof terrace in the morning, providing a lovely view over the medina and up the hill towards the ruined Marinid tombs, livestock being walked up and down the hillside. A very nice start to the day, and a tranquil base from which to explore.

Being with Hanane and her family was the best way to get a feeling of the morroccan culture. I was reallly happy during my time with them and super comfortable in the room I stayed. Breakfast was always delicious and Amina also made me feel at home. The Dar is REALLLY well located inside the medina, perfect for walks anytime of the day.

Dar Naima has truly felt like a personal getaway home to my fiancé and I while staying in Fez. Perfectly located, you can explore  the streets of the old city and easily find your way back home. The ladies of the riad were super helpful and accommodating to our needs; we even extended our stay since we liked it so much. We were able to move to a different room for another view and enjoy a delicious breakfast every morning atop the terrace where picturesque views of fez surround you. I highly recommend Dar Naima to anyone seeking a personalized and authentic experience  in fez.

I have only good things to say about the Riad. The terrace gives a 360 view of the Medina and a beaultiful view of the city. The room we stayed was confortable and clean, the food Hanane prepare is delicious and her and her team are very professional hosts! Sure i will stay there again next time im in Fès.

Every second inside this Riad was amazing, Hanane (owner) is a super sweet and nice person, they cook delicious food, the terrace is stunning and the room was nice, beautiful and comfortable. Definitely a must to visit if you’re looking for a nice place in Fes :)

This Riad is wonderful, very beautiful and traditionell and clean. Perfect to explore the Medina of Fes. The owners are very friendly and respectful people. They welcomed me at their place as a family member. The best thing is the beautiful rooftop terrace, where you will have the best view over the whole Medina and the surroundings. The breakfast is delicious and made with love.

I was lucky enough to spend some time at Dar Naima in Fes in April. Even in the springtime, the fantastic roof terrace has to be one of the finest in Fes, commanding views over the whole of the old city and away into the distant hills. 

As well as providing accommodation, there is a substantial and well-priced menu available for guests and non-guests, and naturally you can then dine with a view over the medina.

The rooms and the common areas are beautifully decorated and the building has more of a feel of a traditional medina home, rather than being soulless like some hotels can be.

Above all else, the owner and hostess Hannan makes all the difference. She greets all guests with a smile and an atay (mint tea) and is clearly keen to keep enhancing the experience for guests - during my stay she was in the process of having a rooftop kitchen/dining area installed.

On a recent visit to Fez, a friend who is resident in Morocco recommended this hostel to me, having stayed there himself for a long period of time. The hostel is to be found centrally in the ancient Medina and, once inside, is clean and spacious and quiet despite the general hubbub in this old part of Fez. The rooms are large and cool when needing relief from the heat, particularly in summer. One great additional facility is a beautiful rooftop terrace with great views,overlooking the rooftops of the Medina and something of the surrounding mountains, on which you can relax, eat, drink, etc.
The Medina lies on your doorstep, so the old city with all its charm is right there for you to feast your eyes upon. From just outside the Medina you can easily access the other parts of the city in all its authenticity. The charming hostess and friendly staff will assist you with any information regarding this. I highly recommend Dar Naima as a place to stay while in Fez.

A most charming place in one of the most charming cities of the world. Genuienely authentic resting place with a very warm and helpful staff. We tried many riads in the past now each time we come to Fez we  stay at Dar Naima. Price/Quality/location ratio Dar Naima is unbeaten.

Dar Naima is located off one of the main roads in the ancient Fes Medina. It is a lovely hotel and the rooms are spacious, beautiful tile and bathroom amenities, the terrace has one of the best views in Fes with lots of seating for having mint tea, socializing or just lounging in the afternoon sun.  The upper terrace has just been renovated, while I was in Fes for 5 weeks and has beautiful seating and perfect for watching the sunset.  The new outdoor kitchen is great if you want to have a bite to eat and unwind from the day.  

Hannan and her family make you feel warm, loved and invited into their hostel/hotel.  Hannan is a very happy person and seems to know everyone in town so, whatever you need, she can help.  She speaks very good English and can help you find anything.  The Medina is so elaborate and it helps to stay in a place where it is in the heart of it all.  I was looking for some earrings and Hannan took me, personally, to her jeweler friend, who helped me find what I was looking for.  

I would recommend anyone to stay at Dar Naima.  It is comfortable and there is plenty of help-guidance with whatever you want to see or do.
