If you're visiting Mongolia and want to experience something robust, authentic, rejuvenating, and educational, this is it, folks! Even though my stay was one night (regrettably), this was by far the highlight of my trip to Mongolia. Nami and her family do a first-rate job at hosting and giving you the full Mongolia experience in all their activities. Everything was done well and complimented the nature around it. Highly recommend this experience!

I absolutely loved my stay here. The horse riding was easily the highlight: we went on several half-day treks up mountains across rivers, met nomadic families, galloped through fields of wild flowers. It was like something out of a dream. I thought the food and the accommodations were great, but it's good to do some research before going (be prepared to eat mutton and to have a light camping experience). Puuje who runs the camp is one of the most incredible people I have ever met: incredibly talented, thoughtful and kind.

We had an amazing time at Dream Adventures! The location of the camp is nestled right in the valley, it’s very peaceful and far away from the hustle and bustle of the valley with Turtle Rock (which feels overrun). At Dream Adventures you get an authentic and peaceful experience of Terelj National Park. The food we were served was excellent and they were massive portions! We also got to do heaps of horse riding (included in your stay) and it was great fun! Pujee can accomodate riders of all abilities (us being beginners) and those who really want to challenge themselves on semi-wild Mongolian horses.

I've been practicing horse riding for the past 3 years to run in the Mongolian steppe and Pugee and Nami helped me to make my dream come true! They are great hosts with talents. Nami's dishes are superb and Pugee's horsemanship is outstanding. Highly recommended!

Best food in Mongolia! Great horseback riding and fantastic location! The views were gorgeous! Puujee was an amazing host, guide, and cook. Would recommend for anyone who is looking to get out of the city for a bit. Will definitely be back! Thanks, Kylie and Kev

If you are searching for a hidden gem of a place to experience the beautiful Mongolian landscape at Gorkhi Terelj National Park, look no further. Nestled away in a secluded, safe mountain enclave with a backdrop of pine trees, the Gers at the camp are comfortable and spacious. This is a place where you can see horses and cattle roaming freely, wake up to a cuckoo bird calling in the distance, and have eagles soaring on a windy day. 

The amenities are clean and quaint with a 'ger sauna' to add a touch of luxury. There is no electricity and internet, which adds to the charm and rustic feel of the place. Food is wholesome, tasty and plenty. Each ger has wood burning stove that makes the place warm and welcoming.  

Puugee and Nami are excellent hosts, with prompt responses to emails and impeccable hospitality throughout the stay. Horse ride or hike to experience the unique landscape. If you are a beginner at horse riding, have no fear - Puugee is an experienced and capable guide. The horses are just gorgeous :) It is lovely to see them roam and graze freely on the land when not being ridden.

The park is located just 2.5 hours from Ulaanbaatar, which makes it a perfect standalone trip or a resting spot during a longer journey. Thanks & gratitude to Dream Adventure Mongolia for making my stay in Mongolia so memorable.

Our stay was simply wonderful and the absolute highlight of our trip to Mongolia.  The staff were so warm and friendly and spoke great English. They were eager to make connections and engage us in conversation but also gave us time and space to enjoy the quiet contemplative connection with nature.   

We enjoyed all of the wildlife and the scenery.  I think Fall or Spring is the perfect time to go--you want it cold enough to appreciate a fire in the ger and the chance to be impressed at how warm it gets inside.  

The back to basics real ger experience is what we were looking for, i didn't want a place with electricity or flushing toilets.  This was more like glamping, full warm comfy beds but still basic enough it sort of feels like camping out and connecting with nature.  It's just rugged enough while still being comfortable. Has everything you need and everything's been thought out to make you comfortable.

Horses and the camp dog just make the camp.  Sheep and yaks roaming around freely. 
 Poujii & his girlfriend were so warm and welcoming and worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly.  They did everything possible to give us authentic experiences and treated us like royalty while we were their guests.  Pougee's nephew's and their enjoyment of the lifestyle and their skills on the horses etc all added so much to our enjoyment.  Especially loved the horseback riding and chances to interact with the livestock.

This was a couple's trip for us, but think it would also make a fantastic trip for families.  Kids would just love all the activities, plenty to do and explore.  It's also really good value for the money.  They also pick you up from UB hotels and drive you out to camp--not a short trip but not too long.  We forded a river to get to camp, I think kids would just love the process of getting out to camp--no roads, just some pathsways and general direction.  

Beds were comfortable, the food was fantastic and filling.  The camp had a few different areas to just sit and enjoy the scenery or walk around to take in the views.  Really great experience that all-in-all was the absolute best part about our trip to Mongolia.  Thanks for such a great stay!!

This place is wonderful. Puujee is a very good host and his camp is great.
No electricity, no tap water. no cellphone range, no televisio, no .....
But : great views, very good breakfast, lunch and diner. amazing horse riding. very comfortable ger tent with a good bed and great atmosphere .
Only minor thing are the trips. If you want to go to terelj park its expensive and a very long drive. It' easier going from Ulan Bator and takes less time .

About Terelj National Park

The short distance from Ulaanbaatar makes Terelj National Park a “must do” on any traveller’s itinerary who is visiting the capital city. Conveniently located on approximately a 2.5 hours drive, it is easy to arrange transport towards the park. Dream Adventures offer a “door-to-ger” transfer from basically any location in Ulaanbaatar.

One part which we consider slightly unfortunate is the continuing development in Terelj National Park of more developed ger camps (including restaurants and playgrounds), chalet types of vacation housing and even large deluxe hotels (under construction). Although such spots will no doubt offer a splendid and convenient time in the park, we were very excited that the owner of Dream Adventures took us over mountain passes and river crossings further away from the “civilized” part of Terelj towards a more remote and beautiful uninhabited part of the park. Placed along a beautiful hill side, the ger camp offers amazing sights of the valley squeezed between green and rocky hills. The location of the wild camp is a major plus which makes this camp truly unique compared with alternative ger camps in the park.

Facilities at the camp

We travelled to Terelj with our 2 year old daughter and a 3rd adult and were happy to find a convenient and large ger which four spacious beds. In the event of rain, the top parts of the ger are instantly closed by staff. The ger is heated with wood during or instantly after dinner. There is both a large open air lounge area where meals can be enjoyed in the outside air and with views of surrounding nature. Alternatively, meals can be served in a separate ger (which also contains a mini library and games). The camp has much more to offer in terms of facilities (including a separate building for cooking classes and stables), but space is limited for this review. Although few tourists seem to travel to Mongolia with small children, the facilities in the camp were more than sufficient for our daughter to have an amazing time in nature.

Staff

Although the location of the camp would seem to be the main strength of the camp, the staff is actually an even bigger plus. The (very) attentive staff will go to extreme lengths to make your stay as convenient as possible. Splendid meals were served three times a day. Staff is fully proficient in English and very knowledgeable about the area. We booked as many activities as we could with the camp (horseback riding, cooking class, visit of a nomad family and visits to Turtle Rock, a beautiful temple on top of a hillside and the famous Genghis Khan statute) and all of these activities were highlights of our stay in Terelj. Our favourite was horseback riding in the direct vicinity of the camp. Amazing views can be enjoyed from the top of the hills on either side of the valley. Pujee (the owner of the camp) is a splendid teacher for newbies in horseback riding (such as ourselves).

Conclusion

We only felt regret that our stay in the ger camp had to come to an end after 4 nights. We will be back soon again for a second visit!

I can have 3 meals for every single day! Which is great and I can ride horse everyday. Now I know how to make horses going right or left, faster or slower. Ger was warm inside, and there was bathroom and shower space. I went up to mountain to watch sunset. That was awesome too! My friends and co-workers wanna go to Mongolia after they look at my photos.
