I found CASA NiNA on booking.com and  due to prize and reviews I went there not even knowing if it was in good location or not.  Actually it is little uphill , so I got the best exercise in years waking to and from my hotel many times a day. It is in the historic part of City center. The hotel is small, I belive some 16 rooms from what I could see, and it is peaceful, the lobby and cleaning workers helpful, smiling and  make you welcome. They clean every day, room nice, bathroom with  hot water, shower good and endless channels if you are up to TV (all in spanish)  there is not a air condition and it is not needed since the temprature in Oaxaca is not that high,

Comfortable stay

We didn’t actually get to stay at casa Nina because they claimed we didn’t have a reservation. When I showed them our confirmation email from Booking.com, they said that we couldn’t have a room because the drain had burst in the room. We were knocking at the door for 30 minutes and they wouldn’t even let us in the property. They arranged us accommodation at a hostel but didn’t even offer to reimburse us.

Terrible experience

    I enjoyed Casa Nina. It’s a quiet hotel that serves a simple breakfast, and is only a few blocks from Templo Santo Domingo. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and had a nice reading/lounging area. A big plus in my book is that it’s also affordable.
    Some rooms had shared bathrooms, while others had private bathrooms, but were located outside the rooms. Heavy metal doors to the street and the rooms themselves were quite loud when closed which woke me up several times at night. One other thing that made arriving in a new town was that reception seemed to be gone most of the time. This made it hard to ask questions and advice from the staff. Maybe a sign stating hours when the staff would be on hand?
    All in all, I enjoyed Casa Nina and would stay with them again.

Affordable, central and clean

Located in a convenient location compared to the city center, clean rooms with double beds perhaps a little small and an indoor bathroom with towels. Courtesy breakfast served in the courtyard, unfortunately we could not ask for the eggs because the cook was absent.

It's convenient.

The staff were very accommodating throughout our entire stay. First instance: We had originally planned to visit another town then stay here only for the last 2 days of our trip, but upon arrival to OAX found that we needed to stay in Oaxaca de Juarez the whole time. The person working at the little front desk helped us extend our reservation (made online ahead of time) to include all 7 days of our trip. We had to wait an hour for them to quickly clean the room, but we went to get dinner and it worked out swimmingly. 

The staff also were amazing with:
1) Helping us unlock the door to our room that we thought was stuck (Just needed to pull harder). 
2) Graciously unclogging our toilet in a timely manner after my brother messed it up
3) When, on Day 3, we left our key on a couch in the outdoor patio area, the one guy came rushing to meet us as he saw us approaching to return the key to us. 
4) Lending us a bottle opener for the beers we bought

Also, Wi-fi and breakfast are included. Did I mention that this place is amazing??

Unparalleled service! You should stay here!!!

I would recommend this place for a specific type of tourists. If you are a tourist who will not stay in your room most of the time, and you're looking for a cheaper place in a good location, I would recommend Hotel Casa Nina. 

Things to remember before you book here:
- No TV, aircon, nor a fan (by request, depending on availability) - in the afternoon it was hot, with not enough ventilation (Sep 2017)
- room is small
- no wardrobe
- mattress is too soft, caused me a backache when I woke up
- has a private bathroom but it's across the hall, not inside the room
- no view, no pool, no gym, etc

Basically, you're just paying for a cheap, simple room in a good location. It's near the famous street where most tourists walk; near tourist attractions. TIP: It's better to make your reservations online than in person - it's 100MXN cheaper online (ex. Booking.com). I would like to commend the staff - they're very helpful and approachable. I would still recommend this place to anyone who has a budget limit of 390 MXN (USD 23) all-in per night. If you could spare 500MXN per night for a room, I would suggest you look for a more comfortable hotel in the vicinity.

Great Location. Cheap price.

Located tucked away in a quiet street close to the centre- walking distance to everything. Comfortable and clean rooms. There is a little kitchen which had everything you need to cook. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. 

Great budget accommodation 

Two steps from the centre, ideal for spending little without losing quality: friendly and available staff and clean rooms. We stayed one more day unscheduled and there were no rooms of our price, but we were left with the suite at the same price as it was not occupied and it was very pretty... Not everyone would do it!

Comfortable and pleasant.

We made several requests and were immediately responded to separately on Sunday the 25th we ordered a tour and left us speechless the best tour Oaxaca can have and at a super affordable price and pick you up at the hotel door thanks for everything.

Incredible Attention is given.

It's okay if you're going on a austere plan, but you should know that if you arrive at night, you won't be welcomed because there's no 24-hour receptionist.The bathrooms are outside the rooms (although there's one for each room and you'll get your key).And, even though it says it has a parking lot, it's not there, it has an agreement with a nearby parking lot, but today, they charge you 40 pesos more and this parking lot closes at night, if you want to get your car out, it should be until after 8 am, a big inconvenience!
