Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives Resort

Well, where to start! This island truly is a little piece of paradise 🏝️ everywhere is super clean and the staff are constantly working to maintain this beautiful place. Our beach villa was perfect! A huge thank you to Yazeed, our villa attendant, for taking such great care of us. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful outdoor bathroom with 2 showers and a huge bath. The food is simply wonderful. A great selection everyday in Sea Salt, the buffet restaurant. A big shout out to Muny, Pooja, Manha (my girls 🥰) , Hussain and the rest of the team who made us smile everyday. We will miss you all. We also ate in Aqua several times (a la carte) including the Maldivian evening which was great fun with fabulous food and service. Most days we had lunch either at Breeze bar or Magical, both serving exceptionally tasty meals, especially the Pad Thai! A big thank you to Balu who looked after us so well at Magical and always greeted us with a big smile. We also want to thank all the guys in Breeze bar who work so hard…. Deepak, Ali, Anis, Ismail, Nizah and Mitchum. Serving us drinks everyday including delicious cocktails. The Berry Spritzer was one of my favourites. Also, a big shout out to the great team at the Dive Centre. Abu, Yaz, Spongey, Mohammed, Saim, Martin and the rest of the team. A great bunch of guys who took us snorkelling with the mantas and eventually a whale shark (after 2 failed attempts). We finally got to see one on our last day and even have drone footage which they were happy to share with us. Such an amazing experience! I would highly recommend this island and I have been to quite a few but this is by far my favourite and we will definitely be back! My only suggestion would be a quieter bar area in the evening as Breeze can be very noisy if the DJ is on (especially for us oldies 😂) Overall, we have taken away so many amazing memories of Barcelo Whale Lagoon and we hope to be back next year to make some more.
