It was perfect weekend in Avoti! Cozy guest house with basic things inside. Very comfortable beds. And SAUNA! Many things to do during the day - golf, tennis, orientation etc. Valdeko gas station next to Avoti complex with cafe.

Perfect weekend!

We stayed 4 nights in avoti complex in August 2014. Two families coming from Barcelona and looking for a quiet place where we could explore the surroundings and cook some basic meals for picnic.
The two apartments that compose each little wood house are not bad, very basic but not bad. But the kitchenette does not offer the minimum facilities as we expected. If you plan prepare your own breakfast or meal in this kitchenette, forget it! No coffee maker!!! No toaster, no frying pans in conditions to cook an omelette or simple scrambled eggs, not wipes nor kitchen clothes, not a single good knive, ... And when the first morning we called the reception desk asking dor a coffee maker, the sleeped voice on the phone told us that we should go to the reception at noon, that was the time they opened!!!
Valmiera, the town where is located the Avoti Complex, has nothing to offer to visitors, and could be a good point to explore Cesis and Sigulda and the Gauja River, but if you find a better place in another location, forget Valmiera.

But if you are a latvian looking for some days in a sport surrounding, with no plans of using the kitchen and no intention to go further than the complex itself, then its a good option.

By the way, free wifi, but in house 5 and 6 poor coverage.

Ahhh! We highly recommend Rates Varti restaurant in Valmiera, it was the best of our stay.
