I have never been to another Kenyan camp, that delivered more experiences out on safari drives seeing animals, We had two days of leopards. We had beautiful herd of elephants with at least 30. We had Lion prides with cubs and male lions and female lions. We had cheetah with three little babies. We had 40 different species of birds we had a wonderful Maasai village experience and we made bracelets at the beading center.

Everything about this camp was impeccable. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by the staff, Shown to our tent, which was one of the most amazing tents we have ever stayed at. Absolutely minimal bugs and the most comfortable stay ever. The food was out of this world! The Chef even gave me the recipe for one of my favourite side dishes! The game drives, and our guide were outstanding. Our guide, James, went out of his way to make sure we saw pretty much all of the big five (except rhino, which does not live here), and provided us with breakfast and snacks that were delicious!! We felt like we were the only ones in this camp, as they treated our family like royalty. Everything about this place is a 10 out of 10. 


Best camp experience of our lives!

Encounter Mara, Asilia Africa was one of the nicest places we have stayed and the experience with the wildlife, culture and conservation efforts was incredible!  The camp was luxurious, the staff was so friendly and welcoming.  Our family of 4 (including a 13 and 16 year old) would recommend this camp to anyone looking for an unforgettable Kenyan experience!

Amazing wildlife and culture experience

My husband and I had an amazing and unique experience. This was our first ever trip to Naboisho and we were so very glad that we chose Encounter Mara for our stay. The staff is all so genuine and personable. Asilia is the group with the motto “genuine safari, genuine difference” - they speak the truth! We rented a private photographic vehicle for 10 days. Our guide is the most knowledgable and best driver out there in the conservancy. We never got stuck in the mud and he knows the 50,000 acre conservancy like the back of his hand. He is a valuable guide to Asilia. Asilia will need to keep him close or else! Both the staff and our guide has made our trip the most memorable. We are leaving today but are already contacting the company to plan for the same trip again next year! We hope to book the same vehicle and guide if we can! Because of this experience we will only book with Asilia-Encounter Mara or other sister camps. You really cannot pass this place up.

The photography vehicle is a highlight as we are professional photographers. This vehicle is very special and we were willing to pay extra to book. The guide is make or break for us, so fortunately we got a fantastic guide! It all worked out!

Rooms are spacious and clean with the most comfiest bed. The hot water bottles at night are the best!! Game changer!

I couldn’t recommend this place more , it’s fantastic! The staff are perfect and the experience is out of this world - I’ve never been anywhere like it. Robert was just the best - everyone was! The rooms are also beautiful 

Girls trip to the Mara

Absolutely amazing experience! The camp is stunning, the staff are so kind and welcoming, and the guides are superb, knowledgeable and enthusiastic! The five days of safaris and visits were incredible.

Outstanding experience!

You can't go wrong with Encounter Mara! The tents were perfect and well situated. They have everything you need from flashlights, water, rubber boots to the hot toddies placed in the bed each evening! The staff was prenominal, aways there to help with a smile. The observation deck was a great place to hang out and relax after a morning game drive. The wildlife was awesome and it was so relaxing not having tons of vehicles running around in the same area. We got to watch a leopard, observed many lions and experience a Cheeta hunting! Plus tons of other animals. Our guide was well versed in the life of the animals and also a great birder! I can say if you go here you will not be disappointed! The crew of Antony, Eddie, Robert, Lyncoco, and all the others were great. 


Can't go wrong with Encounter Mara

It was the best experience I had in Africa. I stayed in 3 decent safari resorts but encounter mara is the most memorable one. All the staffs are amazing and service is phenomenal. Every meal was delicious and right amount. Game drive is so much fun and you can really see many animals. Mara is very good at impress guests with little things which gives such a good memory. 

Best experience in Africa

We visited as a group of 6 for NY. We were collected by the sir strip by our guide Dixon who even managed to spot a cheetah on the drive to camp. The whole team welcomed us on arrival with singing, a passion juice and a cool cloth! We felt so welcome and then ate the most delicious lunch by the salt lick. A perfect start. The food here is fabulous, fresh and delicious. Infact, reminded us of ottolenghi in London with all the salads. Mercy and Anthony are professional, kind and helpful and run a superb camp. The whole team are delightful and cannot do enough to ensure a wonderful stay. The camp is safe and spotless. Thank you to everyone , especially  Dixon, a calm, interesting, fantastic guide. We learnt a lot . We will remember our stay, especially the thoughtful effort on NYE. Fantastic sundowners, a fire,  dancing and a communal feast. You thought of everything!  We would love to return

A fine way to welcome in 2023!

Wonderful Wildlife sightings, not overwhelemed by other tourists and cars , beautifully maintained , very clean camp. The staff was amazing, well spoken, knowledgeable and attentive.
Once in a lifetime experience.
