We stayed here for 5 days for the snowboarding which was great. The hosts are very nice and speak some English. Lots of great food and the Resturant has a very nice views. The guest house is modern, clean and tidy. We stayed in the lounge suite which had lots of room for the young kids to move about. Hosts are very accommodating. Great place 

We stayed at Bleuet for a week in February and definitely had the best stay. We have stayed at many places around the world and this accomodation was the best we have ever had. We booked the honeymoon suite and what a room! This suite is a real treat as it has its own private onsen, a massage chair and is very spacious for a Japanese room. Every afternoon we'd come back from a day of boarding and we'd enjoy both the onsen and massage chair. Then endulged by wrapping a freshly cleaned robe to relax in afterwards, which was very special. 

In the mornings too, we'd hop on the massage chair before heading down for a delicious, Japanese breakfast before heading out on the mountain. It was perfect. 

It is only a 3 minute walk to the nearest chair lift and if you're thrifty enough, you can ski right back to the front door. There are a great range of mountains to board/ski also. You can purchase lift passes and rental equipment from this ski station too. 

We had dinner arranged for us for 2 of the nights with 1 being a special shabu shabu hot pot, which was amazing. We suggest not eating a big lunch as there is so much food. Included in this, is a large entree and dessert. 

Masa and Sach were fantastic hosts. Anything we needed, they sorted and they were so bubbly and kind to us. They always went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. 

We couldn't speak higher of this place. We will be back for sure. 

Second time to here after few years, ambience and friendliness unchanged! Always paid attention to guests and recommended restaurants nearby. If you want to stay there to enjoy their dinner, please voice during room reservations. Tried the luxury room this time, you won't regret except those little pillows.

We had a fantastic week in this great pension . The owner , Miwa-san , is a brilliant architect and designer .He has remodeled this lodge beautifully. It was a privilege and a pleasure to stay here . They can take a maximum of 15 guests , You can rent it exclusively with 12 . The honey moon suite has wood, box shaped tub on the balcony with a great view..The room includes  a sitting room, real bathroom , and a wine fridge. There is a family suite -two double rooms with en suite(pocket size) that connect to a living room and  kitchen . Miwa-san is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast included  fresh vegetables and was delicious . The lack of dinner was no problem as Grand Phenix and Okushiga Kogen hotels  have great restaurants and are a short walk away . Quick walk to slopes and easy to ski back in heavy snow. We loved this place !

We were two American families from Singapore, with teenage girls, and spent five nights at the Bluet at the end of March.   Our stay could not have been better.  The place can best be described as a Bed and Breakfast currently, although they do have plans to resume their evening dinner menu.  The rooms are very European in design and decor, and quite spacious by even US standards.  The owner is an architect, and the design of the place was done by him in a series of renovations over the years. We secured two rooms between us, one honeymoon suite and a second double room with connecting kitchenette.  The honeymoon suite was fabulous with a comfortable living area, massage chair, and a fantastic "onsen" area built in.  This was a separate room with a jacuzzi hot tub, wooden walls (like a Finnish sauna) and windows to open to the outside.  Twice a day, I was able to get pretty close to a true onsen experience without leaving my room!  The innkeepers/owners  Miwa-san and Satchko-san live in and were wonderful hosts.  They prepared a fantastic breakfast every morning and were around through the day to assist as needed. My wife went down with a bad knee injury halfway through the stay, and their level of attention to us and her needs really made what could have been a bad experience much better.    The slopes were about a 10 minute walk with your skis slung over your shoulder, so not "ski in - ski out", but close enough.  I would recommend Bluet to anyone coming to Shigakogen to ski.  I didn't see any other inns that I think would be as charming and comfortable as what we experienced at Bluet

We stayed in this small cosy hotel - challet - for 3 nights with our 3 year old son. We did not come for skiing but simply wanted to enjoy snow and winter atmosphere, as I was pregnant and could not ski anyway. And it was absolutely the best decision we could had made! I spent long time searching around internet, making sure that we would get the best for our money - everything was either unavailable, too expensive or did not have good reviews.
This place exceeded our expectations, even though it looked a bit complicated at first - mostly to slightly dificult communication over the emails and suggested limitations with food services....
However, it turned out to be fantastic!
The atmosphere is relaxed and extremely cosy, great for children (a nice playroom together with reading room with a very homy feeling), looks more like sweden rather than Japan in my opinion.
Really clean room with several sleeping options (beds and pull out sofas etc), conveniently furnished with heated floor and enough space to store all clothes and possible ski equipment. The beds were a bit too hard, though, maybe in need of replacing with new ones? Or maybe we are quite fuzzy when it comes to good beds. Amazing view of white clean snow covering surrounding hills and forrests - it was right there every morning and night, all you wanted to do was sit cosily in your chair and stare through that giant window - if it was not for those tasty, un-describable meals that were served in the restaurant bellow!!
Now, I have to say, that I have eaten in many restaurants on this planet and I am a very picky eater, but what we ate in this tiny hotel is beyond anyone's wildest imagination. 
It is really hard to describe - maybe: look at the pictures offered by management and trust that what you see is what you WILL get and TASTE. Every single course of the 5 course dinner is an absolute favourite, you will have trouble deciding what you liked more. It's absolutely amazing and you should just go there if only for the experience of eating what this chef and hotel owner in one person has to offer.
You will never forget it. I have never EVER, EVER eaten as great meals as in BERSA ROOMS.
I think this place is great for honeymooners, families with small and grownup kids, older couples...anyone looking for peace (its at the end of the road), relaxation, easy skiing (the slopes are a 3 minute walk) and magic dining/evening experience.
