Excellent
14 reviewsThe traditional Japanese decor of the room was very pleasing, and we loved the ambience of both the room and the entire ryokan. Everything was just picture-perfect and it didn't take us long to snap away. Amenities and services were thoughtful and beneficial. For example, as the location was not exactly in the heart of town, the accommodation provided a shuttle bus in which we could request for the time we would like to be sent to town, and when we would like to be picked up for the trip back to the ryokan. Shuttle bus was also punctual, and in fact early. We also appreciated the fact that the room was big. Which was a welcome change after the cramped room at our hotels in Kyoto and Osaka. At night, the staff transform the room to a bedroom by moving furniture to the side, and placing two futons in their place. The ryokan also provided yukutas in the wardobe for us to wear around town, as well as onsen passes which entitles us to visit any of the 7 onsens for the duration of our stay. The staff were also very friendly and obliging. Although there was an attached toilet, there were no bathrooms attached. Bathing was either done at the onsens we visited, or the hotels own onsen. The good thing abuot the hotel onsen was that since most guests were out visiting the 7 public onsens, the cosy & well-maintained hotel one was typically empty. Our only two disappointments was that firstly there was no WI-FI in the rooms, nor any mobile signal to allow mobile data and access to the internet. This meant that for internet access, we had to go to the reception area where WI-FI was available and fast.. Secondly, we weren't able to book either breakfast nor dinner for the two nights we stayed with the reason given by the hotel was that all the bookings were already full. But all in all, despite all that, staying in this hotel was a wonderful experience.
