Guest House Rojiura - Hostel

Beppu

This is the cleanest and most modern hostel I have seen in Beppu.  I have stayed here twice those month and will stay again in early April with four friends.  While I think the location is great, as important as its location is its kitchen and dining room.. The roomie big enough to fit thirty people easily.  This makes it perfect for groups because we have a place to meet and talk besides the bedrooms.  Rojiura is less than 5 minutes from the train station, a fresh market, a grocery store, and many restaurants.  I have stayed in both the private and the dorm rooms.  Both are spacious.  There is some room under the bottom bunks for small storage and the rooms are not crowded.  The mattresses are comfortable.  Visited 21-23 March 2020.

Excellent budget stay in Beppu

This is the cleanest and most modern hostel in Beppu.  I havestayed twice this month and will stay again in early April with about five friends.  I like the location and cleanliness, but as important is the kitchen and dining room.  The room is big enough to easily fit 30 people.  This makes is perfect for groups because we have a place to meet and talk besides the dorm bedrooms.  It is less than 5 minutes from the train station, a market, a grocery store and many restaurants.

Best hostel in Beppu

Great location; 2 minutes walk from Beppu train station. Very clean ( as everywhere in Japan). Dormitory bunk beds with plenty of privacy and secure lockers.Beds are on the firm side. Showers are fantastic.Good communal area with fridge/ freezer/ cooking and microwave etc. Easy walk into town.

Cannot complain for £25 / price which I paid, absolute bargain, however, the doors are a thin shutter and youre in a dormitory with about 6 other people. The toilet is not en suite so I was disturbed by unlocking 2 doors at night and peoples snoring, so personally, I wish I paid slightly more for a business hotel. Saying that, Beppu is expensive for accommodation and this was by far the cheapest and basically outside the station so cannot complain

Suitable for backpackers or those on a budget

There is a communal eating/kitchen area where you can hang out or eat meals. Including hob etc. 

Lots of restaurants nearby too.

Suitable for solo female traveller

Try asking for help with the buses or places to visit and the staff barely speak English or just don't want to talk! and the bike they offer for free is not free! the place is pretty and is super well located, it would be great to have a staff who can help a little more with recommendations and guidance! i was afraid to talk to the young man who was at the reception! the next time i visit beppu i will definitely look elsewhere!

Personal very apathetic.

Super 8 bed male dorm room for 3 nights. No problems at all. Very clean and good amenities. Host is so kind and helpful as well. Lounge area is cosy and has free hot drinks. Showers and toilets always very clean too.

The best kind of guesthouse

Check in and check out were a breeze, staff was friendly and helpful. Room and bathrooms were clean.

Nice location

Rojiura Guest House is located beneath a parking lot and may be difficult to find if you don't see the sign.  There is also a building being constructed directly in front of the entrance (as of December 2018) so there may be construction noise until the building is finished.  Nevertheless, Rojiura is a very clean and spacious guest house that appears to be originally built as a guest house.  The kitchen and common rooms are spacious.  According to the front desk, guests are about 40 percent Japanese, 40 percent European, and 20 percent Asian.  There are few Americans.  This is not the cheapest guest house in Beppu, but it is certainly one of the newest and cleanest that I have seen.  Visited December 5, 2018.

Great place, so clean, and close to thế station and downtown. Will stay again

It is really close to Beppu JR station, despite it could be a little tricky to find at first, as its main door locates in the an alley. Reception is closed between 11am and 4pm and after 10pm til the next morning, you won't have too much interaction with the staff. The common area is spacious and well equipped. There are 3 100 yen public hot spring nearby.
