Hotel Residence Sirenella

Stayed for 3 nights in July 2024 in the most glorious weather. The air con was really needed and worked a treat. The second floor room with balcony overlooking the lake was superb. Spotlessly clean and made up every day. The bathroom has a large shower and all types of toiletries are free. There is free parking right at the hotel. The included breakfast was superb italian style with bread, meats, chesses, eggs, fruit cereal and so on. The waiting staff were brilliant and attentive filling up the coffee jug constantly. There is a restaurant which serves a pre-booked dinner if you want to buy that, but we didn't have it. Immediately out the front is the coast road, which is narrow and sometimes can be busy, but it's great to watch the beautiful cars and bikes driving by, italian style! Just over the road via a zebra crossing is a lovely outside bar under the shade of trees and a small pebbly beach. You can swim in the lake, which we did, and was a relief from the extreme heat. There are loungers that you can take from the hotel garage and use all day if you like. It was just idyllic! The hotel is north of Torri del Benaco in Pau. It's a short walk about 300m to 2 or 3 great lakefront restaurants and we ate there every night. There's a mini market as well which shuts at 8pm. Buses run pretty frequently along the coast road so you can visit the beautiful towns but we had a hire car and went to several. We will go back to the same hotel and carry on going to all the gorgeous places here. By the way, I didn't expect so many German speaking people there and a lot of the shops and restaurants cater for Germans/Austrians, which was an added bonus for us as we love Germany and Austria as well as Italy.
