7 reviewsThis spotlessly clean group of apartments is situated in a historic building very conveniently located for the marina and the sights of Palermo. Our flat was split level with a sitting room and kitchenette including table and chairs on the lower level and the bedroom and separate bathroom on the floor above. It was very large but we were only two - it could sleep 5. You can walk to the station and in a different direction to the top sights of the historic centre. The catacombs with their fully clothed skeletons were very interesting... If you don't fancy walking there is a free bus which you can catch in the very narrow street on which this apartment is situated. It's hard to find out where the stops are but once you find one you will know what to look out for. They do not run as frequently as claimed but they go everywhere and it saves having to find a tabbachi to buy a 1 euro ticket for the other buses. Find a tourist information office and get a free map which shows the free bus route. There is so much history and also lovely shops. The TV was in the bedroom which we found odd but as its 300 channels were all in Italian it didn't really matter for us. Next time we'll have Italian classes. There's a handy list of local eateries in the flat though not all of them still exist and it's very close to numerous places to eat or drink or have an ice cream. I would definitely recommend the Foresteria dell'Alloro and Palermo.
