The Green Hotel

We booked the Green because we had meetings mostly in the area, and it seemed a perfect location. The hotel staff was helpful and always so pleasant to deal with. Aline at the front desk, Jonathan the Breakfast manager, and Aline/Eileen (apologies for not getting the name exactly) in Housekeeping were all very easygoing and responsive to anything we needed. We were expecting a package delivery when we arrived, and it was kept safely for us awaiting our arrival. Our bags were securely stored for us by Aline until our room was ready. While we waited, we enjoyed a nice lunch and especially our conversation with Jonathan in the restaurant. We also saw him the morning we left Dublin, and told him how much we appreciated his and the Green's efforts to make our stay wonderful. Our room was exceptionally comfortable. We had everything we needed for our 3 day stay ... from the coffee and teas, a spacious bathroom, a very comfortable and huge bed, and blackout curtains that made for some restful sleep. Our room faced the street but was quiet. We did manage to catch an overhead view of a bicycle parade one night, with music, colorful banners, and bubbles! The young lady (Eileen?) who took care of our room, made sure we had enough coffee and hot chocolate to get us through our early morning wake ups. The location of the Green was convenient for the businesses and banks we needed. In addition, the variety of nearby shopping and dining options was also welcome. It didn't take long to walk to the river, to the cathedrals and churches, and to the pedestrian shopping area. And that doesn't even cover the proximity to St. Stephen's Green itself, just a very short walk away. The only time we took a taxi was to get across the river when an appointment was unexpectedly rescheduled earlier than expected. It was great to come home and relax at the end of the day. We will definitely book the Green again for our next trip to Dublin!
