Bagh Vilas not only lived up to expectations, it surpassed them! The hosts were delightful and made us feel very much at home. 
The accommodation is excellent.
The entire team is superb and our walks with Naturalists were as enjoyable as the safari drives. 
The food was superb as was the pre dinner get together around the campfire.
We also enjoyed a visit to the organic kitchen garden.
We sincerely hope to revisit Khana and Bagh Vilas is the only place to stay, as far as we are concerned.

We recently had the privilege of staying at Bagh Villas as part of an Indian Safari , arranged by Mysteries of India ….. 
5 stars feels insufficient for our experience!!!! Akhilesh and Lea head the most amazing and professional team , and from our arrival to our departure, our stay was nothing short of fantastic. 
Accommodation , food , service from all staff, safari drives etc etc etc was all first class …… we couldn’t recommend Bagh Villas highly enough ….. or stay was a real treat . We felt thoroughly spoilt during our stay , and had some amazing sightings of tigers thanks to Shrikanth and Mohan , who were so knowledgeable as Naturalists , and a pleasure to be in the company of …… Thank you to the whole team ……. We had a fabulous time . John and Chris 👏🏻

I rarely post TripAdvisor reviews but Bagh Villas was so outstanding in every way that I felt I had to let any prospective guests know! We had the tented suites, which were luxurious, comfortable and sound proof. 
The food was excellent, and Akhilesh and al of the team couldn't have done any more to ensure that our stay was spectacular. The swimming pool area was perfect for relaxing between morning and afternoon safaris, and our safari guide Mohan ensured that we had brilliant sightings (including tigers!) and also accompanied us on a nature walk.

After a long flight and drive from Delhi we finally arrived at Bagh Villas to the warmest of welcomes. Such friendly and genuine staff and to have Umesh and Leah around and so happy to chat makes it very special. The tents are luxurious. The food is varied and fresh and incredibly tasty. It was our anniversary and we had a wonderful outdoor meal under the starlight surrounded by lanterns. 
The spa is both wonderful and needed after hours in a jeep searching for tigers. It is about a 20-30 minute drive through local villages to Kanha. 
The park itself is beautiful. For us the tigers were elusive but most people get great sightings. We also saw wild dog and sloth bear. 
After a dusty safari it is like an oasis of calm returning to a hot towel and fresh juice. Relax. Eat. Do it again! We didn’t want to leave.

We had a lovely three nights' stay at Bagh villas, Kanha. Right from our arrival till departure, the very efficient and warm team kept going the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Lia and Akhilesh are great hosts, fun conversationalist and have an amazing eye for detail which was evident through the way this property is designed and maintained.

Our naturalist Ibrahim did his best to make sure that we spot a tiger, which we eventually did. All their naturalists are extremely knowledgeable and kept us engaged through conversations about Kanha and its flora and fauna.

We came back with lovely memories from Bagh Villas and would recommend it to everyone who is planning to visit Kanha.

Our trip was outstanding. From accomadtiond, service, amenities and most importantly the staff are like one big happy family. 
So welcoming to us all. 
We managed to fit in 4 trips and saw the Tigers each time. Cannot explain just how excellent the naturalists are at locating the tigers. Stunning animals. We saw many more animals n birds but for me being up close to the tigers was magical. 
Lea the chef went above and beyond for us/me especially as I can’t eat spicy food. 
I would 100% recommend this trip and we will be returning. Amazing experience n memories ❤️🙆‍♀️

Just returned from the trip of a lifetime. Attended Bagh villas for my husband’s 50th with family and friends and had the most incredible experience. The accommodation was beautifully kept. The staff were so personable and food was delicious. They went out of their way to cater for my friend’s diet and ensured everyone was well looked after. The safari’s were both well organised and lead by highly experienced staff who know just where to place the jeep to get the best views of tigers ( and this was the case with all 5 safaris we did). I felt safe at all times. Even though we chose to do 2 safaris a day, there was enough time in the middle of the day to swim in the pool and recharge. A wonderful first trip to the jungle and I hope to return to Bagh villas again in the future!

I came here with a group of closed friends and family to celebrate my 50th birthday. I last came here in 2019. I have been fortunate to travel to many beautiful places over the years but this is where I chose to spend my birthday..

We spent 3 nights and went on 4 safaris into the forest. The sightings were great. Aside from the beauty of the forest, bagh vilas is a truly special place..

The tents are fantastic. The food is out of this world . The pool refreshing . The nature guides are supremely knowledgeable. The place is run by Umesh and his wife Lia.. the service is truly personal and special.

Trip of a lifetime

What an amazing holiday. The staff were incredible and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was marvellous, the lodges were beautiful and we had a superb guide who was very knowledgeable on the wildlife. Interesting conversations with the staff who also were naturalists and highly intelligent.  Would recommend for all ages as the consideration given for our comfort was beyond anything we have ever encountered.

After a couple of hectic days exploring Chennai and Goa, we arrived at Bagh Villas for a 4-night stay. We had booked in the hopes of emersing ourselves in nature whilst not sacrificing on luxury. Bagh Villas exceeded our expectations in both! 

We were warmly greeted by owners, Lia and Akhilesh, and staff members offering us cold towels and fresh watermelon juice. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the larger tent, which had a comfortable king-size bed and amazing bamboo rainfall shower. (I’m fussy when it comes to accommodation and am not a fan of bugs, so was a little worried when we booked that we may have some visitors, but was pleased to find the tent absolutely spotless.)

On our first evening, we enjoyed a campfire with Lia and Akhilesh and naturalists, Prahlad and Mohan. We were delighted to be shown the stars through a very impressive telescope and even saw the moons of Jupiter. We then enjoyed a traditional Indian dinner outside, under the attentive eyes of waiting staff, who offer more of a each dish the second your plate is empty. The food was amazing, and Bagh Villas caters very well for vegetarians. 

We headed back to our tent, very well fed, to find hot water bottles thoughtfully placed inside our bed. Housekeeping had also placed little flowers all around our room… and folded my partners clothes which he’d left on the floor in a hurry!

The next morning, organic coffee and delicious homemade buscuits were brought to our tent, before leaving for safari at 5:30am. We climbed into the SUV, and staff members brought us blankets and hot water bottles. We were also given binoculars. 

Naturalist, Prahlad, took us on safari each day and his excellent knowledge and clear love of nature made for an unforgettable experience. Prahlad often stopped to point out eagles, owls, and other interesting birds which we never would have been able to spot had we been alone. He also taught us about warning calls of monkeys and deers, which guides use to track down tigers and leopards. It was so very interesting to learn from Prahlad about all the animals of Kenha National park and their behaviour.

We were provided with a superb picnic style breakfast at around 9:00am, which consisted of seriously tasty bananas (just harvested from right outside our tent), boiled eggs from Bagh Villa’s resident chickens, sandwiches, dosas, Lia’s homemade biscuits and cakes, more fresh watermelon juice and tea/ coffee. 

A couple more hours enjoying safari, and then we were greeted back at the Bagh Villas by staff with cool towels and fresh ginger tea. 

Lunch was then served, which consisted of a homemade soup, main and dessert. Each day we enjoyed a different cuisine - Indian, Thai, Italian - each as enjoyable as the last. 

That afternoon, we received a call to our tent, offering a variety of activities; guided bike rides, bird walks with Prahlad the naturalist, or a tour of a nearby village. Between these activities, safari, enjoying the pool, and copious amounts of food every moment was special. 

The next couple of days followed in this same routine, of great food, incredible sightings of animals, and dinner under the stars. Our tent was made up by housekeeping staff, at least 6/7 times per day. Their attention to detail was seriously impressive.

It is evident that Lia and Akhilesh both deeply care about the environment. Bagh Villa’s is practically self-sufficient, with an on-site organic garden and solar panels. Most importantly, the tap water, which we could not drink in the other places we had stayed, resulting in usage of a shameful amount of plastic bottles, was filtered. The pool also had a special filtration system, so that no chemicals were needed. Bagh Villas also employs people from local villages.

This is by far the longest review I have ever written. Having had such a positive and unique experience, I felt compelled to try and write something which would do this place justice.
