The lady that checked us in was really friendly. On our arrival she kindly let us choose our room which was an upgraded version of the room we had booked. Our new room included a coffee machine and kettle. The view out of the window was amazing, we could see the ocean.

Great little guest house - highly recommend

We stayed for five nights at Finna Hotel in September.  We were visiting Hólmavík specifically to go out on daily whale watching trips with Láki Tours, so the hotel was the perfect location, just a few minutes' walk away from the harbour.  Our rooms had fantastic views of the town and the fjord.  Free parking is available opposite the hotel.
Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.  I would definitely stay here again whenever I come back to Hólmavík.

We had a nice double bed. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast was good and fresh. They cooked the scrambled eggs on request. It was a very good stay. The hotel is situated near the harbour and some restaurants are nearby. Enough place to park our car.

We arrived early for check in but that was not a problem, the owners were very welcoming and friendly throughout out two night stay. 

The rooms are simple and clean and the beds very comfortable for a decent nights sleep. 

Breakfast was very substantial and also catered for my wife's dairy allergy extremely well. 

On a clear day I would recommend taking breakfast on the terrace! :)

Clean and in a lovely authentic, beautiful, quiet setting. Hosted by a friendly and welcoming couple. They made us feel at home with amazing smiles and energetic chat. Breakfast was lovely. The area is so peaceful and calm - we slept very well.   😊

Small guesthouse in the little town of Holmavik. It became one of our favorites due to the kindness of Kathy (hotel manager) who gave us some great tips for the rest of our Iceland trip and prepared breakfast for us. Our room was nice, facing the coast. It was small but totally fine for 2 people, and had a mini fridge and kettle, as well as a TV. Everything was very clean. We spent 2 nights here and explored the Westfjords from Finna Hotel which we can definitely recommend. Big thanks to Kathy for making our time that much more fun! 

This charming hotel nestled in the small coastal town of Holmavik is precisely what you want if you're reading this review. Whether you're coming or leaving the breath-taking landmass of infinite wonder known as The WestFiords, this gateway hamlet is strategically advantageous, & the Finna Hotel is its worthy host. The town itself is a must given its fascinating history, the Museum of Sorcery and Witchcraft, local statuary art, & the not too distant Eiriksstadir, where you easily step into the world of 10th century viking life.
From my hotel window, I could see over the tops of local homes, boat masts in the middle distance, and the gorgeous waters just beyond. My room was rather large for the price of it, providing the plenty room to re-organize during what was for me a mid-point in my Icelandic exploration. 
There seems to be this frustrating movement toward super soft beds, & as most people over forty will tell you, there is nothing comfortable about sleeping on a cloud. For their part, the Finna offers the Goldilocks of beds: not too hard but properly firm. The bedding itself offered a couple options and this leads me to what I really want to say about the Finna Hotel: there is a degree of Thoughtful-ness that I DID NOT encounter at the 3 other hotels I stayed during my visit to the country. 
The sincerity that I encountered from the (?mgr/owner?) Cathy was at once reassuring. I know this will sound corny but she has the air of authenticity such that when she said something to the effect of "Let us know if there is anything I can do for you.", it sounded not like a auto-kindness of average concierge, but well, like a friend, warm & from the heart. The next morning she was training the new seasonal staff on the manner by which to set about the Continental Breakfast. She directed with authority and respect. It may have been very early morning but the vibe was jovial, like maybe she was once a teacher. I had 3 other "continental" breakfasts but this was the freshest, and most thorough. Also, the only one that provided cream cheese, which, darn it, I love. 
Toiletries were complete, plenty of towels, all the coffee fixings you could want, shades were completely adequate for coping with that midnight sun. Clean, did I mention clean? I don't usually walk around in less than socks on hotel floors but here none of that weird stickiness you encounter. 
The fact of the matter is, this isn't just some place purveyers intend to let "just get by" on location, & lack of immediate competition (there are some "guest houses" near-by, but I've had less luck at some of those so-called places). This place is NOT destined for decline (like so many coastal hotels I've encountered on shores around the world, but an absolute jewel, intended to be as much a part of the traveler's experience, and an indispensable mainstay of the region.

I fully endorse this place; you can literally do no better.

No tv or radio in the room, tv is in the main/common area.Not much to do around town during winter. Our key lock box froze, but staff onsite were able to assist.The room was quite cold even with the heating on. The beds weren't very comfortable so we ended up leaving alot earlier than we had planned.The shower was nice, and tea and coffee provided was nice.

Great little hotel in a perfect whale watching spot!

Good straightforward unpretentious hotel on hill by church. Good parking opposite. Room was not fussy but functional.  Breakfast was great freshly cooked scrambled eggs unlike most places which offer a breakfast buffet. Dining room has an excellent view over the bay - where you may be lucky enough to see whales - I wasn't.

Great hotel for exploring Westfjords

An indispensable jewel of N.W. Iceland

We loved the manager, Kathy, she really made our visit special.  It’s clear she is working hard to help restore this hotel to its former state.  It’s a funky little place, each room having different amenities.  Some with large mirrors, some with small.  Same goes for sinks.

The views from the rooms are spectacular.  

Good place to stop along the way

Thanks to a blizzard, we ended up spending an extra two nights here and we were glad it was in this lovely friendly hotel. The owners are very kind and helpful, even opening up the kitchen in the evening so we could prepare our own meals. Our room was beautiful, fully equipped so we could make our own tea and coffee, bed was comfortable, and we had a great view of the ocean. We saw in other rooms too and they were also lovely.

I don't know what the other reviews are about but we talked to other people staying (there was a blizzard so we were were all in the dining room) and everyone else seemed happy too. 

Highly recommend.

Lovely Hotel

This is a little jewel of a hotel tucked away in a tiny town off the beaten path. The owners are so sweet and kind that it's like being with family. The rooms are comfortable and worth the money. The breakfast is lovely, and the owners will help you find places for dinner that are superb. Two thumbs way up!

We stayed the night on a tour of the area. The room was cute and comfortable, with a tiny but comfortable bathroom and comfortable bed. The biggest problem was the water temperature in the shower was uncomfortably hot - barely tolerable, even set as cool as it would allow. We discovered it after the desk closed for the evening and we didn't have time in the morning to ask for it to be fixed. A smaller problem was that the door latch was hard to close from the outside, so we had to slam the door closed each time we were leaving - I could hear guests in neighboring rooms become annoyed. Both problems are easily fixed and wouldn't necessarily affect other rooms (no one else slammed their doors). Breakfast was typical and good. We'd stay there again, but would check the room for issues before the desk closes at 10:00.
