Old stlyed hotel, kind staff, a nice place to stay, i’d say it’s the best hotel at Kaposvar. Food is nuce, rooms have air conditioner, and the beds are comfort. We stayed in a standard room with my friend, we got 2 king sized beds, two bathrooms with excellent equippment, we are satisfied.

I have stayed several times over the years, and it’s still the best hotel in Kaposvar. The rooms are modern, clean and charming. The building was built in the last century and has been completely updated. Location is close to the centre of town and to all the action.

This place is really nice. Huge rooms with tons of small details that really add to your comfort. It has a great restaurant attached and just generally has a very nice vibe. I stayed in three other hotels this trip and this is definitely my favourite one. I will be back.

We had a pleasant stay in the standard suite. The suite was very spacious and stylishly decorated. Overall, the hotel offers a very nice atmosphere and a delicious and inexpensive breakfast buffet. We have enjoyed our stay.

This trip to Kaposvar was unplanned, anyway we arrived at the hotel about 7pm, we were given room 105 which was the biggest hotel room I had ever seen, ensuite bathroom plus extra separate toilet, toiletries, large king size bed, air conditioning, enormous flat screen tv, sofa etc. This is a traditional hotel but with modern facilities.
The staff we lovely, advised where to eat, as they only serve breakfast.  We had dinner and lunch at Corso just across the road (see my review). And they enquired and found where my husband's family name originated from, and arranged for a local taxi firm to take us to this village about 40Km away.
Now I call that service beyond expectation, and my thanks to the night receptionist
for making an old man very happy.

Good location, kind staff, would recommend.
Some issues with an older hotel, and in need of some revamping. Not 100% clean bathroom/ room.

We were actually staying a short walking distance from this building.

The house was built in the 18th century in the Baroque style for the Esterházy family  

During the 19th century it was rebuilt and a floor was built on it. It has its present form after the restorations of the 20th century . The house also functioned as an army office for a while, later a hotel named Csokonai. 

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating.

We shared a pizza a couple of evenings. They were delicious and the beer fantastic. The server was very very friendly and spoke English to me with a big smile. -My husband speaks Hungarian and they had a good chat too-

We loved the tables. They are actually old sawing machines with the large pedal at your feet. It reminded me of my grandmother's machine! But I still remember when she got really modern and bought a motorized little pedal! Singer sawing machine.

I wrote a review a couple of months ago, giving this hotel 3 out of 5 stars. But since that visit, I have stayed here about five times and lot's has changed and improved.

Rooms are still ok, clean and with good beds. The bathroom's are small, but functional with good showers. Reception was and is still good with the same, friendly lady at least the last three times. Much has changed during breakfast. The grumpy, unfriendly young lady that we encountered two times, seems to be replaced by very pleasant members of staff, who are client orientated.  The last two times there was a very friendly lady with a lovely smile: what a difference! And thank you for the chilled orange juice!

We spent one night there to visit Lake Balaton and enjoyed the spacious and quality interior of the superior rooms - with huge bathroom. Hotel was reconstructed few years ago and still in nice condition.

Staff is polite and courteous.Bed was not extremely comfortable though.

An old hotel that retains features with huge very well appointed rooms. 
The staff are helpful and speak some english, situated very close to the pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and shops to browse in.
I didn't have breakfast when I stayed, so I cannot comment.
We use this hotel each time we have business in Kaposvár so I'm happy to return.
