Piros Arany Panzió Kalocsa

We have stayed here for a night and were perfectly happy with the place. Mind you, this hotel is far from what you would normally expect from one. Quality wise it is more akin to a youth hostel with individual rooms. Some of the rooms are en suite and others share the common bathrooms on the corridor. We have stayed in a twin room with it's own bathroom. The beds were far beyond their best years so this is definitely not why I would recommend the place. The furniture in general was also old , yet everything was perfectly clean and in good working order. The two receptionists we have encountered were very helpful and always had a smile for us and what we paid for a night (for two) was somewhere in the region of the nightly price for a dormitory bed(for one) in a hostel in a bigger city. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street that has a bar, a restaurant and an ice cream shop within 2 minutes walking. You can also find a burger place and a cake shop (cukrászda) within another 2 minutes and a market (piac) behind the hotel on a street that has a pizzeria and some more shopping. Over all I would say that if you are looking for something glamorous or you are used to 3 stars or higher hotel quality stay away from it but if you just want a clean, decent room for a night sleep and not too fussed about the bed quality look no further.
