Duna Wellness Hotel

Lovely place near the Sugovica, great for a romantic trip. Beautifull views. Its in the hart of the city, restaurants, coffee shops around the place. Best massage ever. Nice trips in the city. Reaaly recarging for couples.

Athmosphere is great, rooms are very well equipped and feel far more premium than the price suggests. Breakfast is rich, staff is friendly. It is a XIX. century hotel located directly on the central square, runned by a very nice family. Everything was perfect, I would definitely stay again.

I have only been there for 1 night, transiting Hungary. I enjoyed a good night sleep in clean sheets, in a tidy and recently modernized room and bathroom. The hotel doesn't have an elevator so climbing those many many stairs with a heavy luggage was frustrating. I didn't have a chance to experiment the cuisine as I have received a package breakfast (sandwiches, apple juice, water and a muesli bar) due to some "changed policy" of the agency I traveled with.

We staid in the 4-star part of the hotel. The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast has improved since two years ago when we last staid here. We wil definetely stay here the next time we come to Baja.

We stayed for a weekend in 4* room. Despite the hotel handled 3 (!) weddings on Saturday,  we were not disturbed at all. The room was nice and tidy but the central ventilation was switched off, so get fresh air and comfortable sleep, we had to open the window. We tried the restaurant for two breakfasts and one dinner. Food is mediocre, the selection of wines is very narrow. Despite the hotel name suggests a high focus on wellness, that was the biggest disappointment. It is small. According to its decoration it was opened in 2013 but since I assume it was not refurbished at all. The wall in the relaxing area looks awful, and in general one feels uncomfortable relating to hygiene. The staff was nice and willing to help with everything. This place is very controversial because while from one angle it looks and feels nice and good, from another one it is disappointing. I assume this historic building in that location must be handled on a way what it would deserve. I hope it will be!

+ The location of the hotel itself is marvellous. 
+ Large room is nice. 
+ Parking is free on the square.

- Pillows and bed linen are awful.
- Attention to details is zero. 
- Reception telephones do not work. Recepcion and restaurant staff are unprofessional.
- Food selection and quality at breakfast are poor, one coffee machine with a neverending line. 
- Wellness area is awfully small, temperature in the hot tub is not warm enough, in the swimming pool water is cold. 


Thank you, but no, thank you

The hotel looks very grand from the outside and in the dining areas however it's is a bit like "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear"!! Our room was supposed to be one of the restored ones but stunk of sewage.

The staff were scruffy and left their equipment in entrances and hall ways which did not help with the overall ambience.

The food.... All deep fried within an inch of its life, dry and not very tasty. Breakfast was uncovered  and meats not refrigerated. There was some sort of deep fried egg bread but you could not cut it or chew it! Eggs were cold and under cooked. Flies landing on the food, not good enough. 

The main problem for us was the staff who needed more training to cope with an international clientele. Scruffy, unkempt and lack of any sort of etiquette!! Eating on reception and trying to over charge us for our room!

Their school report would read 'could do better' 

Really a 2 star hotel, sorry! 

This hotel commands a great position overlooking the central square and was obviously a grand hotel in it's day.

Today the ground floor public rooms are as you would expect, but the bedrooms on the first floor and maybe others are very tired and in need of refurbishment. Old furniture, marked carpet and a very old bed side radio illustrate this.

The lift to our floor had a very faded aerial photo of the hotel that had fallen from it's mounting and was lying crumpled in the frame. Additionally the same lift had chewing gum stuck to the carpet. 

Added to the above the hotel handed us a card on check in saying that Dinner was served until 9.00 pm. When we went through at 8.40 they told us they had closed and could only serve us some very basic dishes.

In fairness the gentleman on Reception recommended the nearby Vendio Restaurant to us which was very good and which we would recommend.

In summary this is an hotel that needs money spending on it to bring it up to the standard required. Until then we will not be staying there.

Nice rooms, and location. Good things are over. 

Food was overcooked only with coal flavour. 
Staff in the restaurant... poor kids and others. They were unprofessional, unfriendly, phlegmatic and we see they didnt want to do job! 
Please hired up professionals! 

Absolutely not recmomended hotel.
