This hostel was really beautiful and affordable! Our beds were really comfortable and the hostel offered great tours to Tikal - would definitely stay here again! The owners were also super lovely and very helpful!

Great view over the lake, staff were all super friendly and helpful. Cheaper than any other hostels I found around the island and still the best option in my opinion. A lot of charm. The rooms get a little hot but it is the same in the whole island, and at least you get a fan for the bed. Private bathroom and shower too. Great location.

I loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the jungle feeling,  chill shared area with awesome balcony view to admire the beauty of the Lake Peten Itza. The people in the reception were really nice and helpful providing information of  adventures to do in the heart of the Mayan world.  GREAT location in the center of the island walking distance to restaurants. Comfortable prices, rooms looked spotless clean with a private balcony view I loved it I’d defiantly come back here

Really nice hostel. Had a lot of plants and a nice area to chill out in. The rooms were very cowan & each bed had its own fan. The staff was very nice too, super friendly and helpful! Would stay again

Very nice room with a balcony where you can watch the sunrise. Beds were confortable, room and bathroom very clean.  Close to everything just off the main circular road.  Good quality for the price. Recommended.

Great hostel, very cheap. Clean. Has a kitchen to make your own food. Decent sized lockers in the room but not huge. Not very social but very quiet. Right on the water so beautiful views. Night staff were not very friendly but the day time lady was super helpful!

Perfect and affordable

I was going to give 2 stars, but the owners and staff of this place make it worthy of 3. The hotel itself is fine, very basic and budget, nothing amazing. Our room was comfy enough with a private bathroom and balcony, though the place was crawling with ants - but what can you expect for the price? We also slept badly because the people in the room below us decided to start having a party at 3am, though that's no fault of the hotel. The rooms have no A/C, and the fan provided was VERY loud.

However, the owners and staff are just wonderful. They chatted with us, helped us out when I dropped something off the balcony, and managed to get us a great overnight transfer to Antigua at a much cheaper price than I'd seen anywhere else.  I was surprised at how well they speak English, and the 1h free kayaking on the lake is a nice touch too.

We ended up there cause was part of a package... The agent mentioned that it would be a basic hotel but I never imagined it would be that basic lol 
The good thing... We had a private room, clean sheets and towels. 
We had just one night in Flores so it was kind of okay... but I would wish to had stay in a different place even if I had to pay a little extra.

Not so good...

We stayed two nights in a double room with a lake view, a couple of our friends slept in the same hotel.

It is very old and and had its time years ago. It is one of the cheapest places but you can negotiate the same price in other hotels on the island.

One night (Friday) there was no way to sleep. The disco next door was playing music all night. At the same time some guests were loud until 2am. No one from the staff reacted so consider it if you are planning to wake up early for Tikal.

On the second night our friends were almost eaten alive by bedbugs in their room.

Avoid at all costs (bedbugs)

I booked a room via booking.com and when i came to this hostel they told me they don’t have any dorm room and i can pay double price for the same room(?!) or find someone on street who will sleep with me in the same room! Sick!!! They started laughing at me and me reservation. So I found cheaper nicer and normal hostel! I have never met this such ... staff
