Hotel Casa Ramos

Small simple hotel set back from the lake behind the tourist restaurants. The room we had was spacious, bright and clean, with cheerful bread spreads and curtains in traditional fabrics. The window had a great view of the volcano across the lake and it was better still from the pretty blue painted balcony, though, as usual in Guatemala, there are wires across the view. For the most stunning view go up to the roof where you have a complete panorama of the lake. Staff were smiling and friendly. The shower had had good pressure and was lovely and hot once we reminded them to switch the gas on (we were the only guests at the time). It is about 10 minutes walk from the main action in Pana and at this time of year it was pretty quiet after dark, so a tuktuk back from town is recommended if you come back late. Good inexpensive option if you want to enjoy the lakeside location.
