Manos studios

Second stay at Manos Studios, very comfortable rooms with a great view from the top floor.  Good food served by excellent attentive staff, also a well stocked small supermarket attached. Greek Night on Mondays is not to be missed with super barbecue and Manos himself taking centre stage with his dance around the flames and jump into the pool. Great beach at Kolios about 400 metres away.

We stayed in 2 standard rooms and had a fabulous time . The views from the second floor balconies are sublime and the peaceful nature round the pool is sublime. the beds were comfy and nothing was too hard to ask for. it was very welcoming with manos and his staff and family greeting you. The crazy rooster below can get loud on Monday and Thursday however so wait till 11pm to go to sleep then. apart from that another thing that makes this hotel so great is the location. just up a short hill off of the main road at bus stop 15 with a few hotels and nice bars  you will find this amazing hotel.We did have to run up this hill in a thunderstorm on the last night which did ruin our shoes-nothing to do with the hotel. You can get to the local beautiful beach and the bus to koukanries beach or skiathos town!

Manos the owner is friendly and welcoming, his Greek nights are not to be missed. Lovely simply appointed spacious apartments, clean and comfortable. Great pool with sunbeds bar and restaurant and a very handy mini shop next door for fresh bread milk and all your essentials. Only 5 mins from bus stop and 5/10 mins from nearest beach, other beaches all along the bus route and 20 mins to main town and harbour. Small intimate property tucked away so peaceful, loved this little gem.

This was our first time staying at Manos Studios, although not our first time in Skiathos. We had a great time staying here and want to say thank you to Manos and all the staff for making us feel so welcome. We had an upper floor room with great views over the sea. Our room was really clean and cleaned regularly throughout the holiday. The bed was so comfortable, we slept so well. Food at the crazy rooster restaurant was really good and not overpriced. It was definitely worth a visit if you were in the area.The cocktail menu is interesting and a little cheeky, and we did have quite a few! They have a greek party night on Monday and Thursday, and although we didn't go ourselves, we did see how much fun everyone was having... you need to book this if you want to go. Manos himself is a very outgoing host and very funny. He really cares about people staying there and eating in the restaurant, spending time talking to guests, and ensuring everyone is having a good time. His team are all extremely friendly and happy whether working in the restaurant or onsite shop. We would definitely come back to Manos Studios. Kolios as an area is really good with several other good restaurants nearby. You can also walk to Aghia Paraskevi in about 25 minutes to go to the beach or restaurants there. Overall, we couldn't fault the holiday, the weather was great and we had a really relaxing time. Thoroughly recommend Manos Studios.

We stayed at Manos Studios last August…… we fell in love with everything including Manos who is just the most welcoming and charismatic person. The restaurant attached is out of this world and the staff are so welcoming. We return in 9 weeks and cannot wait. Manos and your beautiful studios have our heart ❤️

We stayed at Manos Studios for two weeks and couldn’t have hoped for a better - more Greek base to enjoy this wonderful Island. I’ve got to get the main negative out of the way - the rooms aren’t the most modern - they could do with a revamp BUT - this didn’t worry us at all - the beds were comfy - the air con was the best we’d ever had - the balcony was huge - the kitchen fully equipped - the shower powerful and hot. There are people though who may look at the cosmetics of the room and not like it. We didn’t care! The rooms are cleaned daily - the floor cleaned everyday and beds made everyday! You get to know all the staff like family. The pool area is lovely and you always get a sun bed. If you have children who like to find friends then it may be too quiet for you. The bar and restaurant and good - book Greek night on Monday - it’s an experience. Manos is very much a big character! The super market attached is superb - everything you will need and more and very reasonably priced - fresh fruit and salad - fresh bread etc. Made breakfasts really easy - location is superb - 10 mins walk to Kolios beach (lovely Beach) and bus stop 15 - the buses are cheap - regular and run till late. We ate a few times at Crazy Rooster and it was good - portions are huge and we eat a lot! You can book here with confidence. 

We stayed at Manos Studios as part of a 'cheap and cheerful' break to Skiathos, and I have to say it was a fantastic choice! It is located in Kolios, which is pretty much half way around the south coast of the island - about a 25 minute coach transfer from the airport, and about 15 mins from Skiathos Town on one of the frequent public transport buses that get you everywhere you need to go. It's up on a hillside, and yes, no use denying it - that hill can feel daunting at the end of the day! But it's maybe 5 minutes to the main road, and another few to the beach, and perfectly manageable for most people - I am in my 50s and not blessed with high levels of fitness, but I was fine with it. The reward for that walk more than makes up for it - because the views from our room were amazing, among the best I've ever had. Our balcony looked out across lush green countryside and out towards the glistening Aegean Sea - absolutely stunning, and the kind of view that other hotels would charge extra for! It was also very peaceful being so secluded - surrounded by fig trees and fruit trees, no sound of traffic at all, just lovely. It felt very serene, even though you really were within easy distance of the main town and different beaches.

Manos Studios also comes complete with its own supermarket, and a bar/restaurant called the Crazy Rooster, which seems to be very popular - if you want to go to one of their 'party' nights (Greek night etc) on a Mon or a Wed, do book in advance. They are well worth it - 20 euro for a phenomenal hot buffet and entertainment. Manos, the owner, is pretty much the dictionary definition of 'a character' - he is exuberant and OTT and a born performer, throwing himself into the whole thing with great gusto - but he is also very kind and deeply committed to ensuring his guests have a good time. There were many return visitors there, and he was greeting people like old friends. The staff - from the waiters to the cleaners to the supermarket ladies - were without exception super-friendly and warm-hearted, with a sense of genuine hospitality that you can find lacking in bigger or more 'lux' hotels. It is family run and felt it.

We (myself and two teenagers) stayed in a one-bed apartment, and it was absolutely fine. This isn't high-end luxury, but it was great for us - the rooms were spotless, and the air con (which you pay extra for) was pretty much the best I've ever had. There's everything you need in the kitchen, and our balcony was huge. The complex has a nice pool, gardens, and we never had a problem getting a sunbed - again, a big plus compared to some other hotels - nothing ruins a holiday like doing the 6am 'reserve a sunbed' shuffle!

We ate at the Crazy Rooster twice - excellent food at a good price - and had a lot of fun sitting poolside with cocktails, playing cards and games (warning: the cocktail menu is on the naughty side, so maybe check it out yourself before letting any younger kids near it!). The whole vibe was very relaxed - it was quiet when it was quiet, and full-on crazy on the party nights - but even then it ended at a perfectly respectable hour, allowing everyone to enjoy a good night's sleep. The gardens are lit up at night, and it's very pretty. There are some dogs and cats around, but they all seemed very well cared for and happy, nothing that would distress an animal lover, and none of them were intrusive - just friendly and looking for a fuss or maybe a scrap or two! We love having a dog around so that made it even more fun for us - but if you're not into them, they don't bother you at all.

Skiathos itself was stunning - the beaches, the quaint town itself, the most beautiful crystal-clear sea I've ever been in. Kolios Beach is pleasant, and other beaches - from tiny coves to big, fully commercial set-ups - are all within reach on the bus route, which is very easy to navigate and use. There are a few other restaurants near to Manos, one of which - Infinity Blue - we visited. It's on the upper end of things price wise, but has a stunning location so is well worth it.

Manos Studios, and Skiathos in general, had a totally friendly and genuinely welcoming feel to it - highly recommended.

This was our second visit to Manos, first time was pre-covid and it was already amazing. This time it was another level entirely. You get absolutely everything you could possibly need, quiet, sun trap within a beautiful little setting, incredible and friendly staff, extremely well priced shop, cute local doggos and now the best restaurant in the area with creative and fun cocktails. 

Manos and his entire team should be exceptionally proud of everything that they have achieved in creating everything they have so far. Extreme excited to return next year to see where Manos takes things next. 

Manos himself is truly a one of a kind character with a heart of gold and killer sense of humour. Will also point out he is single and sexy.

Manos Studios accommodation was all I hoped it would be, having read lots of reviews. Spotlessly clean, with all you need for a self-catering holiday. Manos himself is lovely; friendly, helpful, kind, cheeky in a good way! 

I would definitely recommend these studios. The only downside for me was that they share the location with a grill house called The Crazy Rooster. Being vegetarian, this was not ideal for me!

Our first visit to Manos Studios, Kolios 

You have our heart ❤️

3 of us stayed in an upstairs room with a lovely view looking out to sea. Outside our front door was  a fig tree. Rooms are pretty basic as others have mentioned but a good base for exploring the island. Our toilet kept refilling all night and we gave in and paid 7e a night for the noisy air con as it was unbearable without it. It took ages to cool the room down too. I'm a light sleeper so chairs being scraped below early morning and you could hear talking through the thin walls which did keep me from having much sleep.Not a prob for the other 2 with me. I actually liked hearing the Cockerell crowing first thing too. 
Positives: When our kettle didn't work Manos quickly and efficiently replaced it and couldn't do enough for us. Cleaners come in daily and were always friendly. If we were in the room they would go and come back later.
Pool area was almost always quiet ( until large wedding party came, but even that wasn't a prob) it was like having our own private pool. A couple more umbrellas maybe on grass area would have helped for busier times but we always enjoyed it there. Nice to chat to others.
The Crazy Rooster restaurant was fabulous, big portions, great food. Can definitely recommend the mixed grill for 2! Mondays and Wednesdays for party nights are worth booking for for the experience! Manos is a fun, friendly guy who can't do enough for you. I'll miss our chats! He really works so hard to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.
The supermarket is well stocked and has most things reasonably priced. If we'd had a car we might have done a large shop at the larger supermarket at bus stop 3 or one nearer airport but this little one suited us and the staff always were friendly and helpful which made me return.
Other restaurants near by that we enjoyed were diamond studios- 3 course set meal for 17.5e Inc drink, we sometimes went to xenia for breakfast as lots of cheaper options- full English 8e Inc drink or baguettes 4e. Jimmy's & Green Park were others that we visited too. Didn't have any bad meals at any!
Bus stop at end of road enabled us to travel around at 2e per head for any distance. Great public transport.we visited a few different beaches and town and also went to a monastery.
We did a day boat trip to a lively beach, Skopolos, the chapel from Mamma mia film and dragon caves,with Skiathos cruises. Its worth shopping around/ haggling as the different companies charge different prices and sometimes offer better deals if they think you're going to book elsewhere. If you do fancy a change from Greek food the Indian restaurant in town, towards the runway of airport is lovely too.
I would love to go back to the island!
