Wow what a place!! We booked the villa Althea, the pictures on the website looked amazing and we were not disappointed! We were welcomed at the airport by a rep who led us to a small mini bus where we were given a bottle of water each for the short journey to the port. At the port we were handed over to a small sea taxi and taken to the stunning island of Meganisi! Alexis met us at the other end where we were given our car for the week and clear instructions on how to get the villa! At the villa we were greeted by the lovely Michael who showed us to our villa and settled us in before leaving us to it! We had a welcome basket with bread, honey, tea coffee, orange juice, milk in the fridge with butter and all the ingredients we needed to make a Greek salad! The views were breathtaking, the villa very well equip and any questions or issues we had Michael was easy to find and always sorted them very quickly! The island is probably the most stunning Greek island I’ve been too (I’ve been to a few!!). If you want bars, clubs, sandy beaches, rows of sun beds and hundreds of people then this island is NOT for you! It is a very unspoilt, not touristy, pretty, natural island. The islanders are very friendly, the port has a variety of restaurants all of them equally as tasty!! Our favourites were Stavros family restaurant and mana! But all of them were lovely! The beaches are small, pebbled, stunning little coves, a few with beach bars and sunbeds! We also hired a boat for the day and went round the whole island which was great fun!! We will definitely be using Ionian and Aegean Holidays again! Only one negative which would not stop us using them again- we could not find the ace handling rep at Heathrow (despite a phone call) we eventually gave up looking and ended up getting BA to help us as our reference number for the flight was not recognised! Small issue as I said but worth making sure you get a BA reference number if you fly with them not the holiday providers!!
