Ferienpark Hollandia

Wrote to a number of places in the area for a 3 night stay, late August. Not the cheapest but sounded good. And good it was! Very nice host, made our stay nice and easy. Its a large complex, summer isnt the main season here I think and so some was locked off. Its a winter place I think. Arrived about 18:00 and were met with a smile and shown our rooms which were spartan but comfortable. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 2 children 7 and 9, plus a teenager. We had a separate room for the 17 yr old, anyone with a 17 yr old boy will understand why! Our room was a double with a connecting room to 2 bunks. Perfect for family. I think there would be room for an extra bed, we didnt ask. Rooms had a balcony, with good views over the valley and into the distance. Nice to sit and have a drink and just look. We ate in the restaurant, we booked when we left on 2 nights, (it was quiet and so I guess they didn't want to waste food), on the 3rd night we turned up rather late but the owner provided us with a nice meal. All the meals were good size and nicely presented. We had travelled for 3 weeks prior to this and it was so nice to have a bowl of vegetables each night not just fries! The dining room was nicely presented. We slept well each night, beds were comfy and TV in the rooms, we did find some English TV if we wanted it, mainly news. We weren't there to watch TV. Breakfast was typical cold meats and rolls. It was fine for us, if you want hot breakfast, it wasn't offered. And we didnt ask. Right outside the dining room is a childrens play area, perfect for while they wait. Lots of seating and relaxing areas throughout the hotel. We would happily stay again, in fact we are considering our first winter holiday here, something we had never considered before. Value was good for us.
