hotelF1 Chalon sur Saone Nord

This is an extremely cheap hotel. We paid just 39 euros for a room to sleep three people and two dogs, so there's only so much you can reasonably expect. The room was clean, the sheets were clean, the showers and toilets were shared amenities outside the room, as in most hostels. So far, so low-cost. What made this into a really good experience for us was the staff. They were friendly, smiling and helpful from start to finish. We had actually had our car break down on the motorway close to Chalon-sur-Saone and, with two dogs and a reluctant and difficult insurance company, we were stressed and worried until we found the F1 hotel. They took the two dogs for just a 5 euro fee, answered our questions; the following morning, we had an all-you-can-eat breakfast for just 3 euros, the lovely Michelle in reception said that the insurance could call her and leave messages for us, she didn't charge us for a slightly late checkout despite the fact that we had created extra work for her. Comfort and luxury are not high on this place's list of attributes, but the customer service set them apart.
