This hotel is lovely, full of character, and the location is amazing. My family (2 kids, wife, I) and I greatly enjoyed our stay in our family room with loft and balcony. The building itself is now my inspiration for retirement, it's gorgeous, I want to own it or something exactly like it. Coffee on our room patio and the minimal but delicious breakfast in the courtyard was truly enjoyable. The staff was helpful without being too involved, though speaking some Spanish definitely helps if you are staying here. Overall I'd welcome a chance to stay again, loved it.

I liked the hommy feeling of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was deliscious and the staff was courteous. This was my second time visiting and I will be back.

Mosquito is ideally located in Zona Colonial which gives easy access to most major cultural sites, dining and related activities.  Most important though was the friendliness of staff, especially Lucilla.

The staff is excellent and the property is charming. I stay here whenever I need a nice place to work remotely, rest and have a good breakfast (the coffee is really good)

Great little hotel, charm, location

Overall, this hotel is a little oasis. The downside is our room is small and feels extra small because the windows are covered in decorative film (for privacy) but that means you cannot see out of them at all so it feels a little claustrophobic. But other than that, the hotel is lovely, the staff is great and the restaurant is outstanding. Plus the location has us feeling like locals even though we are in a tourist area. That is a big bonus. Very happy with our stay and will come back again.

The Location was excellent for the Colonial Zone. Parking we used the Municiple Parking. Not supper easy, but we did not speak spanish either which did not help. Eventually we got the car parked and everyone was nice. The staff at the Mosquito was amazing and happy to help. room was nice. The location was a huge deal. we were just down the street from everything which made our experience Fantastic!!

This was my hubby's and I first get-a-way without the kids and we absolutely loved it.  Mosquito hotel is absolutely amazing.  The premises, room & decor were really nice.  Lucila who checked us in and was there during our stay was amazing.  During breakfast our waiters were also very friendly and welcoming.  We would definitely stay there agin & highly recommend it.

The 5 stars to this property is definitively to the staff and the Boutique style of the property. We had a problem passing our card in Hotel Gran Europa and their staff never worried about us at all.. I had to walk with my bagage towards Mosquito Hotel, the card didn't pass due to an error with the company that process the paymens "Azul" but the Mosquito staff walked us to our room, let us check other options and we ended up paying with no problem after the link issue was solved. The staff really cared about us and offered us a way to solve the issue. Big thanks to the staff, and their constant follow up on our stay, for telling us where to go and helping us all the way until the last day of our stay. I will come back just because of them. This place should be on the TOP 5 for Santo Domingo.

Great hotelTo stay in the middle of the city! The area feels safe, although be aware of locals trying to sell you at every corner. Property is old but well maintained, though floor tiles are broke so hopefully it’s fixed in the future. Staff went above and beyond in terms of customer service, specially front desk, Yesenia! She made our short stay very pleasant. Will definitely stay again.

This hotel is located right in the heart of the area called "Zona Colonial" which meant everything was within walking distance. Breakfast is included, which is a plus. However, the a la carte menu looked so good we had to try. I am glad we did because it was delicious! Theu also have a restaurant bar which opens at 11:00 AM. The staff was always super friendly and ready to help. The only thing I would add is that the hotel is made in such way that you could easily hear everything going on around you. It did not bother us at all, but if you are a light sleeper this might be an issue. In conclusion, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

We liked the feeling of staying in a former colonial era home converted into a hotel. The hotel is diminutive and so are the rooms. The lower priced Expedia rooms are on the “Third Floor “ and a challenging climb of stairs as there is no elevator. Second floor rooms cost extra. Select wisely!The staff is friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good and sufficient. It included fruit, juice, eggs, bread, butter, preserves and coffee. Location is excellent for visiting on-foot all the historical sites on our list. A half a block walk away is Calle El Conde & Parque Colón, the heart of Santo Domingo for centuries.I recommend it and would stay there again.

We stayed at Mosquito for 3 weekend nights in April.  The location cannot be beat.  Walkable to everything in the Colonial Zone.  Very quiet since we stayed in a room in the back of the hotel. Only a few rooms face the street.  Our room (Standard Double) was TINY.  Just enough room for a bed, a comfortable chair, and a good-sized open closet.  But we did not spend much time in the room except to sleep and change clothes.   Powerful air conditioning.  The shower had plenty of hot water and high-end  toiletries. Breakfast in the charming tropical courtyard.  The free options were great (egg dishes, toast, juice & fruit). For extra charge you could get special dishes like breakfast burrito or avocado toast.  Staff was friendly and helpful.  The bar area was lively at night but we chose to head away from the hotel for evening activities.  Very safe area since tourist-friendly and well patrolled.

This hotel was recommended by someone we recently met.  You can easily access the colonial city by walking from here.  The inner courtyard where you eat breakfast is charming and the food and service is very good.  Being in an old building, your room might be upstairs and I didn't see an elevator but I saw staff carrying bags up.  We got an early check-in and relaxed over lunch in the courtyard while we waited for our room to be ready.  Would stay here again!
