Overall a very pleasant stay with simple accommodation, and I plan to return. The staff was very friend and helpful. On three occasions they went out of their way to help me. My large dog and I were both welcomed there, and that's a big plus. :) This is an older building with the charm of an era gone by -- lots of real wood paneling throughout the building -- though it is a bit dark since much of the wood is a dark colour, carpeting is black, and the windows are small. However, my room had light-colored solid wood wainscotting from halfway up to the ceiling. The furniture is simple and basic, with comfortable mattresses. My room had a modern sink with lighted cabinet, and there was a modern tiled private bathroom down the hall, for my use only. This solitary pension is surrounded by forests, so it is very quiet, peaceful and dark at night. I slept very well. The morning buffet, included in the price, offered an assortment of sliced cheese, ham, hard-boiled eggs, cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes; breads, jams and sweet pastries; a variety of teas and coffees, and orange juice; several dry cereals with milk. Sausages were served some mornings for meat eaters. I was very delighted to find that the restaurant food was excellent with very reasonable prices. A large outdoor terrace with large umbrellas and heavy wood tables is a wonderful place to enjoy drinks or a meal. Outdoor amenities include a wading pull and a small shallow pool for adults; a playground on one side of the building and a large field with mini golf, a volleyball court and a pingpong table. The pension is about 1.5 km from the centre of Srní, by foot (walking along the 2-lane road and through the forest), and about 2-2.5 km by car. A bus stop, by the same name, is in front of the establishment. Plenty of free parking. The bus ran several times a day on weekdays, with the last one into Srní at 17:52 on weekdays. There is free wi-fi but it didn't work upstairs in my room. My only complaint is that most f the staff smokes, and they sit at a table next to the door, so smoke is unavoidable entering and leaving the establishment. Smoking is also allowed in the restaurant, but there few people were in the restaurant in the evenings and I didn't spend very much time there.
