Hotel La Provence

I stayed here for 5 nights over New Year 2013. This small family-run hotel is a well-located gem 5-minute walk from the best spa in town in the grandiose Hotel Nove Lazne located in the center of town. The guests from this hotel can use the spa and treatments at Hotel Nove Lazne at a very reasonable price. I had the smallest room in this hotel which was exactly as the photos depicted -- it was super clean and modern, 2 very comfortable single beds, free WiFi, large windows, good heating, well-lit, 2 sofa with a table in the sitting area, very large closet and shelves, flat screen TV, small kitchen area with fridge and kitchenware, and a thoroughly modern smallish bathroom complete with shower, heated towel bars, and good towels. The housekeeping is once a week. Owner Jan is helpful and professional. The price is excellent for such a nice and well-located room. I highly recommend it. Having visited Baden-Baden for spa every winter for 17 years in a roll, I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely this town is even in the dead of winter and how good the spa facilities are. There are plenty of beautiful Belle Époque buildings, great walking trails, non-flashy crowd, good selection of eating places, lots of companies offering inexpensive day-trips to nearby tourist sights in Germany and Czech Republic, convenient bus system, and big supermarkets like Tesco are within walking distance from old town. Some hotels open their spas and facilities to non-hotel guests. I used the salt mine cave in one of such hotels. It should be noted that due to the fact that the visitors coming to this town are mainly Germans, Czech, and Russians, the languages used are German, Russian, and Czech. English speakers may find it a bit challenging.
