Villa Jelena

My niece, a girlfriend of hers and I booked the triple room for two nights so that we didn't have to try and day trip it from Split. It proved a very relaxed way to visit the national park. We caught the bus from Split to Korenica mid-morning and arrived at the chalet mid-afternoon. It was easy to find - up the third lane on your right as you head back towards Split from the main roundabout in the village. Our room was a good size with a small ensuite. Our hostess didn't seem to speak any English, but managed to show us to our room and hand us the key. The password to the wifi was written on a note in front of our door when we headed out to check out the village. The view from our balcony was nice - to the back of the property. We could see the hills on the other side from a side window. It was very cold at night and the heating was turned on the first night, however didn't come on the second and my niece was a bit cold. It was very easy to get to the national park - a short walk back into the village to catch a bus to Jezera. We didn't have long to wait for a return bus from the park, either, and spent the rest of the afternoon resting our sore legs and enjoying the peace and tranquility this property had to offer. Would recommend if you're on a budget, as we were. Very good value for around AUD20 each a night (triple room).
