a short and unexpected business trip to Abidjan - the pin method of selection of accommodation!

luckily this turned out well; good clean and friendly accommodation; excellent dinner for the one night required. good appetising breakfast; tasty coffee.

downsides? a little difficult to find even for the taxi, but fun to solve the problem; so, location not central and hits the rush hour traffic to get to BD.

if I ever am asked to Abidjan again would seriously consider it.

In general, it was an acceptable place to stay for a couple of days. HOWEVER, we found the residence to be overpriced for what you get in return. Rooms need urgent face lifting, there are no restaurants and/or shops to buy from in the vicinity and you are on a main road. The owner is nice but part of the staff are rude and tasteless. They find it difficult to accept the reduced price received online, and will try to overcharge you, as they do with transportation to the airport (asking 10000 cfa when the actual price by taxi is 5000). We also had an issue with hot water. We will not stay there again - there are much better places for this asking price.

Good location, fair sized rooms, overpriced

Not easy to find in the street, but very cozy place when you find it, nice rooms and balconies. But don’t trust the staff with any money, they tried to rip us off when we asked them to organize taxi to Grand Bassam (45 minutes away). The staff said the price would be 60000 CFA and was dealing with the taxi-driver to send money with Orange Money, we found much cheaper taxi in the street, and the locals only pay 7000 CFA for taxi to Grand Bassam. Only breakfast for 1 person is included in double-room, they charged 2000 CFA for a coke, we ended up almost paying the same for a few drinks and breakfast as the cost of the room. Watch your money over there.

Cozy place but tried fraud 

The rooms are just okay if I’m being generous. I was first put in a with the toilet leaking, and lights so dim you could barely see. They didn’t fix it until we pointed these out, and I had to change rooms. The internet is awful.

The worst part is that the lady who owns the place scammed us when we were checking out. On booking.com, through which we booked, the rooms were valued at around 40,000 cfa. When we went to pay she basically refused to show us any receipt and insisted that the prices were 50,000. We got verbally abused, called stupid and thieves when we tried to confront her; she even threatened to call the police. When we went to pay, her card machine wasn’t working because of the hotel’s horrible network, she called us stupid for not knowing how to use it and insisted that our card was the problem. Unsurprisingly, when we went to an atm to withdraw cash, it worked on the first try. Unfortunately, we had to pay the sum she claimed as we were about to miss our flight and could not waste time arguing.

The only good things about this hotel is the location and the nice lady who supervises the kitchen.

I wish I made this up. I do not know if they do this with everyone, judging from the many good ratings, but we were sure unlucky.
If you stay here, make sure you keep tabs on everything you pay for.
