Quiet and peaceful with parking and an easy walk to town and the beach.

The place is just great, since Tamarindo is getting super big and busy with lots of tourists and bars this place makes it feel that you are super far away and there is actually tranquility just a few minutes from downtown. Great service, amazing breakfast, cozy rooms for couples, the place feels really good and I cannot complain about anything. They also put snacks for free plus emergency self care kits. Common areas are beautiful and there is a chill cat around!!

Great place, great value, great location, great breakfast. The pool was a bit small, but the ocean and beach are only minutes away. TV was poor, if that's important to you. Stayed for 6 nights.

We arrived after dark and were greeted by Enrique the friendly security guard who happily showed us where everything was located. All the staff were great and seemed happy to be here. 

Our room was clean and had everything we needed, and all in good working order. The large refrigerator in the kitchen area was a good add. The toiletries provided were better quality than many hotels we have stayed in.

Casa Leona is a short walk to the night market (3 mins) town and the beach (5-6 min walk)  yet very quiet. The grounds are lovely and well maintained with several seating areas to enjoy - poolside or a shady gazebo.
Breakfast was good and had enough choices to keep everyone happy. 

We were only here for one night (short side trip en route to somewhere else) and I wish we had been able to stay a bit longer. I would definitely return if the opportunity presents itself in future.

I was very pleased with my stay at Casa Leona. I was there from November 9-14th 2024. It is about a 5-10 minute walk or so from the centre of Tamarindo up off the busy main road on a quiet neighbourhood side street the allows you to be in a beautiful, quiet green oasis! 
There were even some Howler Monkeys way up in trees while I was there. 
The main road to town has no sidewalk and you'll be walking on the edge of the asphalt as vehicles go around you and your fellow visitors.

The room amenities allow you to have meals in to save some money, the rooms are cozy with good AC, I was in a second floor deluxe unit which has a peaked roof that gives a more spacious feel, a large shared covered balcony to hang out on between activities or rain. There is a gazebo with couches to lounge in and a pool as well.

Breakfast was excellent with a few choices from a set menu, from a hearty La Tica which is a local breakfast with fruit to lighter fair such as croissants.

Wifi was good, no issue with download speeds. 

Most properties here have fences and locked gates and it's the same at Casa Leona, plus there is a friendly night guard who watches the parking area. The friendly staff work diligently to keep the
property clean and tidy.

Just a reminder, some rooms have hot water and others do not so make sure to read the room descriptions carefully.

I highly recommend Casa Leona for its location, peace and quiet, all the lush greenery that screens you from neighbouring properties, a good breakfast and overall ambiance!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and cozy, which made my stay even more enjoyable.One of the highlights was the breakfast. There were plenty of options to choose from, and I opted for the traditional Costa Rican Gallo Pinto with local tortilla. It was delicious—full of flavor and the perfect way to start my day after running the Tamarindo Marathon. The convenience of having parking spaces right in front of the hotel was a big plus, especially with the added security of a guard on the property. It made me feel safe and at ease throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return!

Been at Casa Leona multiple times, and love every one of them! Danielle is an amazing host thank you for all the help! The hotel location is just 5 mins walking away from one Tamarindo beach, and 5 mins away walking from the super market aswell!

Perfect scape from work!

Quite little oasis, close to everything 

A Pleasant Oasis Just Minutes From Town

Checking in early is a bit tricky, but that's normal. The staff was super attentive. the breakfast in the morning was amazing and Daniela at the front desk was helpful. Everything was perfect. Prob the only weird/annoying this was that it seemed like there was always something going on during the morning - construction, or landscaping, something!

Great Quaint Stay

We had a great stay here, we had a few teething issues which were quickly resolved by the owner when he was at the property the next day. We borrowed a surf board, which was a great option to have. The property is about 10-15 min walk to the beach, close enough to the main area but also far enough away to ensure it is quiet in the evening. They accommodated early check in and an early breakfast for us on check out day. We enjoyed breakfast each morning.

Casa Leona is the nicest accomodation here. Located in the beautiful garden, studios with balcony, patio and kitchen corner Are super cosy and romantic! A terrace with a pool is great. Staff is fantastic! Women are super friendly. They make perfect homemade omelette, juice, piňa, toasts and coffee. I am sorry that I have to leave 😭. Me and my husband, we had wonderful end of honeymoon here. You must try Casa Leona! 

Unique studios and villa in the heart of Tamarindo

The hotel was a little oasis, it was set back from the town so more peaceful. The room was tastefully decorated. The landscaping of the area was beautiful and the howler monkeys came into the nearby trees in the morning.  The staff were really friendly although we needed to use Google translate but we understood each other in the end.

This location and its owners, employees and family are just simply fantastic.

After a nightmare 14 hour journey to the hotel due to a strike blocking roads and where we got stuck our help came in the form of Daniella.

The sweetest and kindest reception / co ordinator / hotel owner daughter you will ever find. She was just incredible.

Her willingness to listen and support a guest of whom she had not even met yet and whom had actually booked the wrong date was extraordinary. 

The location is brand new and is spotless from top to bottom. The beds are very comfortable and the room elegantly set to perfection. Feels like home from home.

The location is perfect for Tamarindo. Very quiet and secluded yet close enough to town and the action.

This will be the only place my family will stay going forwards in Tamarindo.

Daniella you are a credit to yourself and to your family. Keep up the excellent work.

First class I truly cannot say enough so I will say no more.



Words Dont Do Justice 

Excellent welcoming from the hosts and a neat service throughout our stay. The place offered a lot of space in which my family could really feel comfortable while having fun by the pool. Delicious breakfast delivered every morning of our stay. There are many activities and tours offered by the staff which really helped experience the full pura vidan lifestyle. The place is very well located in the Tamarindo area, a walking distance to any activity in Tamaringo. Loved our stay!
