Golden Takeo Guesthouse

I stayed here with my two teenagers because I’d read the reviews on here. I just wanted somewhere safe, clean & quiet so it was perfect. Prom & his family are so lovely & hospitable. We asked for the free airport pickup & Prom sent a trusted tuk tuk driver who then looked after us so well for our 2 day stay. He arranged the driver to take us on the short circuit of the temples & to the circus. Prom also helped me with a broken suitcase & advice about what I should expect to pay when shopping & haggling. We only had the rooftop breakfast one of the mornings but it was fantastic - also the rooftop is lovely & cool at that time of day. The guesthouse is not fancy by any means, some of the outside looks a little run down but it’s budget accomodation, the rooms are mosquito free, cool & quiet - our main requirements. Walking distance to town (the heat is a drawback though so a tuk tuk is an option at just $1 or $2) & plenty of convenience stores, spas, ATMs & food options all around.
