Diamond Palace Resort & Sky Bar

The Hotel itself is one of the nicest and most western-approved accomodations during our three weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia. Especially when one knows the rest of Cambodia, this place is outstanding. The rooms are really nicely designed, the bathroom especially. Also the breakfast-room is really nice. The rooftop pool is really nice and the water is actually cool, something that we otherwise never experienced during our travel. The location of the Hotel is quite central but not too central. It lies in an area where one can just walk around and enjoy the daily cambodian city life. One can also easily walk to the city centre with the main tourist attractions within 20-30minutes. If a TukTuk is needed, make sure to take the TukTuks right in front of the hotel, as they offer really good prices. We can really recommend this place for these reasons. One star is being subtracted because of the service that did not meet our needs on two occasions: 1) our air conditioning didn't work well (it didn't blow enough cold air in order for the room to be cooled down and then there was a timer set two one hour that we couldn't delete by ourselves). When we told the desk, it took a whole day and three walks back to remind them until they did something about it. If you stay in a city with 40°C with a little kid and book a hotel with AC, you kind of expect it to work. 2) We ordered a Taxi to the Airport the night before we left and already paid. In the morning, we reminded them again 30minutes before we had to leave. Somehow the taxi never turned up (they said because of traffic, but as it turned out later, the traffic wasn't even that bad). After a 30minte wait, we were told to take a Tuk Tuk and were refunded the taxi. Eventually we arrived at the airport in time, but there was no need for this hustle AT ALL!!!!
