Berghotel Gstrein

As we drove from middle of Slovakia to final destination Vent, long ride and well worth to enter the Alps. For me a long time ago were I started alpine career 18 years ago.I wanted to book at Haus Eberhard but unfortunately fully booked as I new this accommodation years ago had a good experience. But then I found Gasthof Gstrein. Choose a family room for 4 persons, 2 adults and 2 children. Stayed for 5 nights (room nr:24) Very well accommodation separate rooms for children and parents. Children sleeping in bunk beds, when needed they offer a "drop board" which you can place if one of the kids might drop during there sleep. As Martina, owner, she was thinking in advance, great start for our get togetherness. Parents bed, amazing wake up view of mountains and fresh mountain air. Breakfast is good. As we also prepared in the morning our lunch for our day trips through the mountains. Gasthof Gstrein is an excellent home base to make your daily planning through the amazing area Tirol Alps. A nice detail is that this accommodation, only 2 hotels in Vent, offers you an Alps premium card. With this card, you have frees excess of public transport, cable lifts, and more activities. Beside of this extras the owner is very helpful, my son was not feeling well as she knew were to go for a children Doctor in Solden. Planning for families with children of ages of 11 years (and almost) 2 years old: You can have nice mountain trips, we went to Martin-Busch Hutte and back. Made it to the top of Hornlie gipfel. We went to the slopes of Wildes Mannle. Made the round Breslauer Hutte towards normal route to Wildes Mannle. Do not take short cuts as it should be a holiday experience I did not went to the top with the smallest, safety reasons. My wife and oldest son made it to the top. As me and my youngest son were lying on the slopes of Wildes Mannle. Make sure you are good equipped, as specially equipment material how to carry young children for those long distance you might walk. A good basic condition is handy to do trips like we did. After all those trips a good safe home base as Gstrein is super! I highly recommend Gasthof Gtrein. "Smell the flowers while you can"
