Really nice hostel, central location with lots to walk to- they held luggage for us from our early flight which was super helpful.

In a central location, very close to both attractions and amenities (restaurants, bars, shops, bottle (liquor) store.)  All star ratings are relative, i.e., based on this being a backpacker dormitory type of place. Needed a place to stay on short notice and was able to get room with just four beds and semi-private pair of toilet + shower rooms. People staying observed the 10 PM quiet hour start. The people out on the street, not so much.

One of the more respectful, cleaner hostels in cairns, perfect for the more matured generation who respect others privacy, females shared bathroom is extremely clean.Aside from requiring maintenance to 2/3 hand basins and regular topup of hand towels/soap, I cannot fault this hostel.

The best of this place is the staff always willing to help and solve every issue!

Very quiet, stayed in a 2 person room with my friend. Simple & clean. Bathroom was great…lots of showers & clean. Felt very safe. No parking, so try the parking garage on Lake St, $12/day.

Friendly staff helpfully, clean quite place not stinky felt quite modern, comfy bed pillow not so much but all in all good for what I needed.

Great hostel at Cairns CBD. Clean, quiet with a great social space in the hallway. Highly recommended for solo travelers that enjoy mostly resting at night after a full day of activities.

All the front desk staff I interacted with were very helpful, warm, and genuinely cared about my travel experience and were very resourceful with recommending places and things to try. I arrived at 12am and the manager on call was very kind to check me in. The room smelled of a melting pot of body odour though... I wish there was better ventilation and a window. The place had pretty much everything you would need. I think the bathrooms could be cleaner. The staff alone made my stay enjoyable and it was definitely worth the cheap stay.

A very good backpacker type of place

My stay at The Village was wonderful, from the moment I checked in with Jonnie. He was super friendly and helped us at all times. Our trip to Cairns was to celebrate my mom's birthday, and I can say that we had a very pleasant experience. The place is quiet and well-maintained, exactly what is needed to relax and have a good time.

The private room we stayed in was clean and quiet. Check in was easy and front desk staff were always friendly. On our day of check out they let us store luggage for the day as we didn’t leave town until the evening which was a great help! The bathrooms ran out of paper products a few times and the bathrooms and kitchen were not the cleanest in comparison to other hostels along the east coast, but it was nothing too notable and overall we had a positive experience! The location is incredible and we were within walking distance of everything we could’ve hoped for, including pick up spots for day tours. Free breakfast included toast, coffees & teas. I would recommend this property and would say the highlights were the location and the quiet rooms.

Staff were friendly, cool and accomodating in my request. Clean as hell! Modern and funky. Chilled vibe. Venue is in a central location and they give you clear instructions on how to enter and exit the establishment. I stayed in a private room and had no issues. Want reasonable place to stay in heart of cairns… look no further - Cheers Freedom Cairns!

We got to Freedom Cairns later than expected due to flight delays however we got an email prior to reception closing checking when our ETA was and we were able to communicate re using Goki (app for door lock) and other info which was very reassuring. Getting into accommodation was easier than i expected and felt extremely safe. The location was brilliant and the room was very spacious. The showers and toilets were clean and there were never any queues. Great accommodation for r groups, singles or families

Central city location - perfect

Our stay was comfortable and convenient. The room was large, bright and clean. The bed was large and comfortable. Only problem we encountered that interfered with our comfort was the noise from slamming doors especially early morning and late at night. Also the fridge space was very cramped for storing milk etc.

Great hostel in the heart of Cairn, close to all amenities and harbour. Room spacious with comfy bed. unfortunately fellow travellers did not respect outdoor balcony area being closed after 10 pm and stayed up chatting and smoking till 2 AM- perhaps hostel could review their procedures to ensure all guests a good night sleep.

It was a pretty good accomondation! We could go to lagoon and night market in 4min, to casino in 7min, to rusty's market in 10min. Good price, good service! Even they provide free beer voucher for use in bar near the accomodation. How awesome! Some staffs are friendly and nice, but some of staffs are not. There are no elevator. But i still love there!

Property was in a good location but the kitchen was very full and hard to find any space.
