This was our first visit to the restaurant under the new management and new chef. We were joined by two friends for an evening meal and all selected different main dishes. Every dish was voted excellent! My own selection of Sauerbraten was the best i have had and all accompanying vegetable dishes equally delicious. We shall certainly be regular guests here.

Always had great food here but the menu can be difficult to understand if your German isn't great. Love coming here as end of holiday treat. They do have a children's menu which comes with ice cream. Fine for bigger kids too (our big boy is 11) as lots of chips! 

Unfortunately my wife was in England and could join me for this enjoyable meal but I promise we will return so that she can enjoy the ambience and the food. I ordered the deer (farmed locally) goulash with pear and preiselberry. Tender and delicious. All wines are local Mosel wines and excellent. The service was welcoming and the restaurant full proving its popularity. Although this is a hotel its restaurant is very popular from the recommendations we have had. I have no idea what the rooms are like but the restaurant overlooks the Mosel river and the Calmont mountain with the steepest vineyards in Europe.

Best Restaurant!

Dinner for one

Good food but difficult menu if your German isn't good! 

We dropped in to this hotel restaurant for lunch around 14:30. It was pretty busy and we ate inside. We have to say the server was pretty rude and brusque. Bad attitude. The food was mediocre. Frankly, if you have other choices then try them. We won't be back to this restaurant. Mediocre food and brutal service is not an incentive to return.

Service not good

It is never good when you arrive to find they have made a mistake and a double booking and so you might have nowhere to sleep!!
In fairness they did best to sort out problem and we were billeted in bus driver accommodation but it was not good. No curtains or privacy. No soap or shampoo. Hot water took forever and mosquitos in the night!!
Breakfast for coach tour clientele hardy adequate. 
Fortunately evening at Weinhaus Berg was very good!
Maybe stay there???
