Cosy historic building in a lovely village

Good food and drink selection and friendly staff. Great little village pub and convenient for travel onwards.

A great trip. Friendly staff and easy check in and out. Kind to store bags. Lovely comfy room. Great character. Breakfast amazing and nice range of drinks/food. Great stay. Would stay again. Perfect location and nice and quiet.

I would highly recommend The Red Lion.I can not big the pub up enough.The room and ensuite was lovely,the manager and staff were all friendly and attentive and the fish and chips was banging.I can not say a bad thing about the pub,only go there and be amazed by everything they do there to make you feel welcome and well looked after.Excellent place.

My daughter and I went on our travels and this time stayed at the delightful Red Lion hotel in Lacock.
What a find, right next to the Abbey, which is also a must visit place but the hotel is perfect! It’s old, it has charm and character and even better the staff are warm, welcoming and very friendly.
We had a room overlooking one of the side streets and a night you could hear a pin drop! So peaceful and quiet.
We had breakfast there both mornings and it was a very good choice of menu for breakfast, had a full English and pancakes on the other day and both are highly recommended.
Many stars have stayed at this hotel as Lacock is a famous village for movies and it’s interesting to speak with locals about who they have met over the years.
The room we had was lovely, clean and tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities which is always most useful.
We would definitely stay here again, it’s well worth a visit!

we loved the red lion. The staff was so helpful and courteous. The continental breakfast was much more… The bar was great! Our room was charming… We couldn’t ask for more in a hotel with great access to Avebury and the Cotswald.

An excellent stay, lovely room, great food, considerate staff,  all in a a quintessential English village.

Excellent pub.

Fabulously welcoming.

Such a magical place to stay for the nearby town. All of the Harry Potter filming locations were awesome to see and the town was so chill. There was something very D&D about checking in with the bar keep to get a room at the Inn above the pub. We absolutely loved staying here, and everyone was extremely kind.

Spacious double room, well equipped, complimentary hot drinks and biscuits in rooms. Stayed for an evening meal and breakfast. All service and food superb. Plenty of menu options. Staff very attentive leading to a very enjoyable friends Birthday celebration. The pub itself is full of character but all clean and tidy.

Would stay again. All good.

Was in area for family reasons, needed to stay overnight, and needed somewhere dog friendly, knew of Lacock as had lived nearby years before, so booked online at red lion using their easy to use website, handy for oldie like me! On arrival, parked in large rear park with couple of disabled spaces, and were welcomed by friendly staff who made big fuss of our hound, and showed us to our large clean room, with a nice view of the lovely old cottages opposite. After a long drive, and with car parked, it was time for refreshment, so we headed for the bar, and later had walk around village, before arriving back at the lion, and having some food, which was much needed and very good. After few more drinks we went back to room, which in the high temperatures outside, was blissfully cool, slept like a log I’m glad to say. Upon waking we helped ourselves to tea and coffee, and having time until breakfast starting at 8am, took the dog out for a walk. Lacock can get busy with tourists later in day, but this time of morning is tranquil and relaxing. We made our way to the bar for breakfast, which has a great variety, I chose full English, and missus had fruit then eggs Benedict. The food was excellent both times we ate there. We were very impressed with the staff, the welcome, food, and everything at the red lion, and will be calling again.

One nighter

Fabulous stay at this lovely pub/hotel. The location was fantastic! The room was a good size with windows overlooking the front of the building.  There were complimentary bottles of water in the room as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The en-suite was small but modern and the shower was good. We ate in the pub in the evening and our meals were excellent. The same can be said about the breakfast which had a lot of choices. Staff are friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay here in this beautiful village.

Fabulous stay in a beautiful location!

We had lunch here during a guided tour of the area and wow, were we impressed! They were grilling burgers outside on the BBQ and we decided to take advantage of the day. We both had the grilled burger and sides (slaw and potato salad) and the meal was awesome! I sampled some local beers and they were great! we love the Lacock Red Lion!

A Tasty Lunch

We came for a relaxing weekend getaway and had the best time. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was nice and warm even through the night, despite it being -5 outside! Room was clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. Lovely breakfast with a good range of options. We were sad to go and we'd definitely come stay here again! :D

Relaxing getaway that we'd hoped for!

Definitely Cosy and Characterful! Whilst -9° outside, our room was cosy, the whole building is Characterful, as was, for me, mattress! BUT, hubby slept well! The food was amazing! We had Shrimp popcorn with Lobster mayo and Chicken Parfait, followed by Ham, Egg and chips (treacle glazed, yum) and Beef & 6x Ale pie, yes it was hubby's, but I did quality control 🤣 and it was excellent! I  topped off with Treacle Tart and Marmalade Ice Cream... no words!! The STAFF were amazing! Fully attentive and responded to all requests. Great village, great Inn and fantastic stay! Thank you Red Lion! A memorable stay! 🥰

Lacock, film set yes, but so much more!

We visited with friends and were made to feel so welcome. The rooms were in good decorative order and the quirkiness of sloping floors and sash windows added to the charm. The staff had great senses of humour and joined in a couple of lighthearted jokes and pranks among our party. A thoroughly relaxing break!
